PRI Web Site Gets Noticed
Dear Steven and Staff,
Congratulations on your excellent and informative web site. I had not accessed it prior to this and I am impressed with the quality, case of use, and information provided. Keep up the good work in your efforts to promote life, to prevent the many injustices and abuses of persons and nations that hide under the guise of “population control,” and to educate people about the reality of God’s designs for humanity. May God bless your work in His name and may our Mother, the Mother of all peoples, smile upon you.

Dear Steve,
Congratulations on the launch of the new website, and for including us in your email distribution listing. This is a source of valuable information for us here, and we disseminate such important information to all our 14 programs and affiliated coordinators and members of their communities.
We, too, are in the midst of a website revamp, and we hope to have a relaunch before the end of February 2003 for very much the same reasons as yours.
With best wishes for a fruitful year, reaching out and touching more hearts with the truth.

Hi,
I have been receiving your email updates for many, many months now and am forever grateful to you for your clear and comprehensive analysis of the issues. I have been involved in pro-life activism here in Ireland for some time now, and as a medical student am called upon to defend my opinions thoroughly. Thanks to your website I have been able to find pertinent facts easily and quickly.
Your new website is fantastic!!!
Congratulations,

PRI Website Helps Win
I just wanted to thank you for your web page. Today a 22-year-old woman debated with me when she heard several of us older women talking about the need for more babies in the world. Of course, she has believed all the stories about overpopulation, just as I did when I was her age. I have printed out the article by Jacqueline Kasun and others. This young woman said that if I can convince her I am right and that she is wrong, she won’t be afraid to have babies.

Dear PRI,
Thank you for a splendid website. I am in correspondence with a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) for this region on the subject of funding “reproductive health services” in developing countries. May I send him print-outs of’ some of the articles from the Review off your website? I don’t know if it will have any effect, but I feel that, somehow, your message has got to be seen by the as-yet unconverted.
God bless you and your work, and thanks again.

A Mother’s Ordeal
I’ve just read, for a second time, Steven Mosher’s book A Mother’s Ordeal. I first met Steven when I was president of California ProLife Council and we invited him to receive an award for his work on the steps of the California Capitol on the anniversary of Roe v Wade, I’ve always been impressed with his work.
Chi An and I are almost the same age, born just weeks apart in 1949, but born worlds apart in so many other ways. Again, as I read her story, I have such compassion for a woman who lived her life as in a vise-grip and I rejoiced that she found freedom for herself and family her in our country.
Is there any follow-up to her family’s story? Is there any way to send a note to her to tell her how much I appreciate her courage to tell her story?
Tomorrow I will lend my autographed copy of A Mother’s Ordeal to a Chinese student who is studying in America. She recently viewed “Abortion for Survival” and a mutual friend has lent her the pro-life video “After the Choice” to give her another perspective, and I hope that A Mother’s Ordeal will really resonate with her.
I’ve posted a review of the book on Amazon.com and given PRI’s address and phone number. I hope the book is still available through you and that others will read this and know why the world must stand firm against China’s one-child policies.
Thanks!
Betsy Powell
Dear Betsy,
Good to hear from you. I’ve donated the rights to A Mother’s Ordeal to Population Research Institute, and we have the paperback edition available here if you would like a copy or two. In fact, just send me your address and I’ll send you a copy as thanks for all you’ve done for the pro-life movement in California.
As far as Chi An is concerned, she and her family are doing fine. If you want to write her a note, I would pass it along. She still prefers to remain anonymous.
Steve
