Overpopulation Debunked: This week, PRI President Steven Mosher appeared on Relevant Radio to debunk the myth of overpopulation, drawing on his firsthand experience witnessing the brutality of China’s One-Child Policy. Mr. Mosher explained how generations were taught that babies were “little carbon emitters” exhausting the world’s resources, and called the overpopulation narrative “total nonsense.” He noted that the world’s population is expected to peak within the next two decades before entering a long-term decline—a trend already underway in China and much of Europe—and warned that no nation has successfully reversed falling birth rates once they begin.
China Intensifies Christian Persecution: This week, Steven Mosher was featured in a piece published by PJ Media examining the Chinese Communist Party’s escalating persecution of underground Churches. Drawing on PRI’s recent press release, Mr. Mosher warned that Xi Jinping’s regime is intensifying its crackdown on Catholics who refuse to submit to state control, citing the detention and disappearance of underground priests, and government censorship of sermons. He argued that the Vatican-China agreement has only accelerated the CCP’s campaign against Christians.
DKT’s Global Abortion Empire: This week, National Right to Life featured an article by PRI team member Samantha Lejeune, exposing how DKT International has quietly become one of the world’s largest abortion networks. The article explains how DKT operates through pharmaceutical supply chains, telemedicine, and commercial partnerships in more than 100 countries, distributing millions of abortion pills while adapting its structure to evade scrutiny.
Deepening Depopulation
America’s Population Bust Looms: A new analysis warns the U.S. population could begin shrinking in the 2050s, decades earlier than government forecasts predicting decline in the 2080s or beyond 2100. America’s fertility rate has already fallen to a record-low 1.57 children per woman, and the report projects it could drop to 1.35 by 2050 and 1.15 by 2100. Researchers warn a shrinking work force and aging population could strain Social Security, damage the economy, and reduce innovation.
Lessons from High-Fertility Communities: As birth rates continue falling across the developed world, one writer points to ultra-Orthodox Jewish communities as an example of sustained family growth. In the United States, Yiddish-speaking women average 6.6 children, compared to the national average of 1.6. The article argues that young marriage, child-friendly communities, and shared childcare responsibilities help foster larger families, offering lessons for societies facing demographic decline.
“Israelis, occupying a highly contested piece of real estate, understand that children are the only future a family has, and the only future a nation has,” says Mr. Mosher. “Israel is literally the only developed country that has a birthrate that is well above replacement, bodying well for the future of Israel.”
Communist China
China’s Christian Crackdown Intensifies: China is escalating its crackdown on underground Churches, with more than 10,000 Christians arrested under Xi Jinping’s rule, according to ChinaAid. Authorities continue raiding unofficial churches, targeting lawyers who try to defend Christians, and imprisoning worshippers who refuse to join state-controlled churches. Although China has an estimated 115 million unregistered Christians—far more than the 44 million attending state-controlled churches—Beijing’s campaign seeks to bring all religious practice under Communist Party control.
“Communists always target believers, Catholics especially,” Mr. Mosher affirmed. “Xi Jinping, like every Communist dictator before him, cannot tolerate any allegiance higher than the Party. That’s why the faithful of the Underground Church, loyal to Christ and His Vicar are being singled out for destruction. But the blood of the martyrs is the seed of the Church.”
Science Gone Mad
U.S. Bishops Oppose IVF Expansion: The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops has urged the Labor Department to reject a proposed rule expanding insurance coverage for in vitro fertilization (IVF). In comments submitted to regulators, the bishops argued that IVF destroys, and/or indefinitely freezes hundreds of thousands—possibly more than one million—human embryos each year and called instead for support of restorative reproductive medicine, which treats the underlying causes of infertility while respecting human life and dignity.
“We should not, in any way, shape or form, subsidize IVF,” says Mr. Mosher. “It involves the creation—and subsequent destruction—of human life because of the discarding of ‘defective’ or ‘unused’ embryos.”
Pro-Life Around the World
France Advances Assisted Suicide: France’s National Assembly voted 291–241 to approve legislation allowing adults with incurable and life-threatening illnesses to receive lethal medication, though the measure must still pass Constitutional Council before taking effect. France’s national health insurance system will cover the cost of the deadly procedure. Those who oppose the law warn that it will increase pressure on the elderly, disabled, and chronically ill to end their lives instead of receiving the life-affirming care they need.
Ireland’s Abortions Continue Rising: Ireland recorded 10,600 abortions in 2025, a 59.02% increase from 6,666 in 2019, the first-year abortion on demand became legal. The latest figures bring the total number of abortions since legalization to nearly 60,000. Pro-life advocates note that roughly one in six pregnancies in Ireland now end in abortion and warn the nation continues moving further from the protections that existed before the 2018 referendum.
Ireland to Remove Abortion Waiting Period: Ireland’s lower house voted 86–70 to advance legislation eliminating the country’s three-day waiting period before an abortion, sending the bill to committee for further review. Pro-life advocates warn the waiting period has allowed thousands of women to reconsider and continue their pregnancies after an initial abortion consultation. Although the measure has advanced, it must still pass multiple legislative stages before becoming law.
Pro-Life on the Home Front
Missouri Strengthens Born-Alive Protections: Missouri Gov. Mike Kehoe has signed the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, making it first-degree murder to intentionally kill an infant born alive following an attempted abortion. Pro-lifers say the law closes gaps left by existing federal protections and ensures infants who survive abortion receive the same legal protections as any other newborn.
Michigan Blocks Hiring Mandate: A federal judge has temporarily blocked a Michigan law that pro-life organizations argued would force them to hire abortion advocates and provide insurance coverage for abortion. The ruling protects Right to Life of Michigan and Pregnancy Resource Center Grand Rapids as their lawsuit moves forward. The court found the groups are likely to succeed in showing the law violates their First Amendment rights, allowing them to continue operating according to their pro-life mission and religious beliefs.
AG Targets Mail-Order Abortion Pills: Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche pledged to take action against the mail distribution of mifepristone, criticizing the Biden administration’s policy allowing the abortion drug to be shipped directly to women without medical oversight.
Blanche said the Department of Justice would devote resources to stopping mail-order abortion pills and confirmed the Trump administration opposes the policy. He also noted the FDA is conducting a new safety review of mifepristone, with results expected in the coming months.

Miracle Baby Turns One: Baby Safir, born at just 22 weeks’ gestation weighing 1 pound, 3 ounces and given only a 10% chance of survival, has celebrated his first birthday after spending an entire year in neonatal care. Despite undergoing multiple surgeries and overcoming serious medical complications, he now weighs more than 8 pounds and is preparing to go home for the first time, highlighting the remarkable resilience of babies born at the limits of viability.
