China Targets American Democracy: PRI President Steven Mosher was featured in the New York Post warning that the Chinese Communist Party is expanding its influence through cyber espionage and artificial intelligence. Mr. Mosher highlighted President Trump’s claim that China had stolen the voter records of 220 million Americans—noting that it builds on earlier cyberattacks—including the theft of security clearance files belonging to 22 million Americans. He argued these efforts are part of a broader campaign to undermine American institutions and national security.
PRI Report Spurs Action: After reading PRI’s report on DKT International, the Honduran Pro-Life Committee launched its own investigation into online abortion pill sales. The findings were featured on national television after reporters, posing as a pregnant woman seeking an abortion, were able to purchase abortion-pill kits within minutes. The investigation sparked widespread media attention and was followed by Honduras’ National Congress. As a result, the Congress has unanimously approved a motion to strengthen investigations into clandestine online abortion networks.
Deepening Depopulation
Ukraine’s Demographic Crisis Deepens: Ukraine recorded 73,292 births and 259,853 deaths during the first half of 2026, leaving the country with four deaths for every birth. Births fell 16% from the same period last year and have dropped nearly 50% since the first half of 2021. The steepest declines occurred in frontline regions, underscoring how war and long-term demographic decline continue to accelerate the nation’s population crisis.
Global Study Identifies Fertility Pattern: A new study analyzing more than 200 years of demographic data from 237 countries found that nations consistently follow one of two pathways as fertility declines and life expectancy rises. Researchers concluded that, as education becomes more competitive and costly, parents increasingly choose to have fewer children while investing more resources in each child, suggesting these pressures are a key driver of today’s worldwide fertility decline.
Study Warns of Rising Childlessness: A new analysis suggests that America may have reached “peak motherhood” as first-time birth rates decline across nearly every age group. Researchers found first births among 30-year-old women have fallen 33% since 2015, while rates for 40-year-olds are down 13%. If current trends continue, they project that one in four women could reach the end of their reproductive years without ever becoming mothers.

China’s Population Aging is Inevitable: A new report warns that China’s rapidly aging population is unavoidable before 2050, even if the nation’s fertility rate rises from about 1.05 to above 1.3 children per woman. Under that scenario, 29% of the population would be 65 or older by mid-century. China’s population also declined for a fourth consecutive year in 2025, while births fell 17% to a record-low 7.9 million, underscoring the country’s deepening demographic crisis.
“China’s demographic disaster is far worse than China, or its state-controlled media, is willing to admit,” says Mr. Mosher. “Nearly four decades of forced abortions, forced sterilizations, and the slaughter of baby girls have sent China into a death spiral.”
UN Misdeeds
Nations Call for Global Surrogacy Ban: Governments led by the Holy See, Italy, Chile, and Cameroon have launched an international declaration calling for a worldwide moratorium on surrogacy, warning that the practice exploits women and commodifies children. The declaration follows a U.N. report estimating the global surrogacy market is worth $14.95 billion and could grow to nearly $100 billion by 2033, prompting renewed calls for coordinated international action to protect women and children.

Chile Debates ‘Heartbeat’ Bill: Chile’s National Congress is considering legislation that would require women seeking abortions to be offered the opportunity to hear their unborn child’s heartbeat before an abortion. The measure would strengthen informed consent and give mothers an opportunity to connect with their baby. Since Chile legalized abortion under limited circumstances in 2017, 6,249 women have sought abortions, with 85% choosing to terminate their pregnancies.
“This Chilean effort to start reducing the number of abortions in the South American country is a direct result of the work of PRI’s Latin American office,” says Mr. Mosher. “Headed by the tireless Carlos Polo, the office serves as a pro-life think tank for the entire region.”
Hundreds of Euthanasia Errors: A confidential report obtained through a freedom of information request found that 51.9% of British Columbia’s nearly 4,200 euthanasia and assisted suicide deaths in 2024 required oversight follow-up, with 2,807 reporting errors identified. Of those, 353 compliance concerns were serious enough to require additional education for practitioners, while some cases were referred to professional regulators or law enforcement over potential violations.
Honduras Targets Online Abortion: Honduras’ National Congress unanimously approved a motion introduced by Speaker Tomás Zambrano calling for stronger investigations into clandestine organizations that promote abortion through social media and other digital platforms. The measure reflects growing concern over the use of online networks to distribute abortion information and services while bypassing the country’s pro-life laws.
“PRI’s work on the new abortion networks like DKT continues to pay dividends,” says Mr. Mosher. “Other countries need to follow Honduras’ lead and begin shutting down the organizations that promote and sell the abortion pill through social media.”
Pro-Life on the Home Front
DOJ May Investigate Partial-Birth Abortion: 57 Republican lawmakers, led by Rep. Chris Smith and Sen. Mike Lee, urged the Department of Justice to investigate whether the deaths of five late-term preborn babies recovered from a Washington, D.C., abortion clinic in 2022 violated federal laws prohibiting infanticide or partial-birth abortion. The lawmakers said the previous administration failed to conduct a substantive investigation and called for autopsies, preservation of evidence, and a respectful burial for the children.
“Congressman Chris Smith is not only the most pro-life U.S. Congressman, he is also the most tenacious,” says Mr. Mosher. “He is determined to get to the bottom of the killing of five nearly full-term infants at a D.C. abortion mill. And the babies deserve no less.”
Abortion Travel Remains High: A new report from the Guttmacher Institute estimates that more than 140,000 women traveled across state lines for abortions in 2025, including 98,000 from states with strong pro-life protections. The report also estimates that 142,000 abortion pills were distributed through telehealth to states with abortion bans or restrictions, highlighting the growing use of mail-order abortion drugs to bypass state laws.

Premature Twins Beat the Odds: Twin boys born 10 weeks prematurely after their mother unexpectedly went into labor at 30 weeks have gone home after spending 46 and 55 days in the neonatal intensive care unit. Born weighing about 3 pounds each, the brothers overcame underdeveloped lungs and other complications before leaving the hospital. Their story highlights the resilience of premature infants when they receive the medical care they need.
