PRI in the Media

A Dangerous Bond: Dictator Xi Jinping visited Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and was welcomed with open arms, despite the atrocities committed against Uyghur Muslims. A dangerous bond may be brewing between the two countries, involving the exchange of Saudi oil for Chinese nuclear technology.

COVID Controversy

EU Combats Covid: The European Union is facing tension with Beijing as it encourages member states to employ pre-departure COVID-19 tests on passengers coming from China. Beijing has threatened the EU with “countermeasures” if the group enforces a full travel ban as Italy, France, and Spain have.

Sudden Death Suspicion: A recent Rasmussen Reports survey found that almost half of Americans believe that COVID-19 vaccinations have caused a significant number of unexplained deaths. Of these, almost one-third of the survey’s participants knew someone personally whose death may have been caused by vaccination side effects.

“The mRNA vaccines are not only ineffective against new Covid variants, they are causing massive numbers of injuries and deaths,” says PRI President Steven Mosher.  “Their use should be halted immediately before they do any more damage.”

Deepening Depopulation

Paul Predicts Apocalypse…Again: The infamous Paul Ehrlich has returned to the spotlight to spread doom and gloom on “60 Minutes.” His predictions of the 1970s “smog disasters” and the 1980s “Great Die-Off” were both proven false, but Ehrlich now claims that civilization will collapse in the next few decades.

“My former colleague at Stanford University, biology professor Paul Ehrlich, hasn’t learned anything in the past 55 years,” says PRI President Steven Mosher. “In 1967 he predicted that global famines would begin in the following decade that would lead to nuclear war and the extinction of mankind. He advocated putting sterilizing agents into drinking water and into staple foods to stop people from having children. Over a half-century later, Ehrlich is still arguing in favor of population control and warning that human beings will soon be extinct.”

Musk Slams Ehrlich: Public figures are speaking out against Paul Ehrlich’s catastrophizing on “60 Minutes,” pointing out his obvious failures in the past five decades. Elon Musk among them was straightforward in saying, “Ehrlich despises humanity. Nothing he says should be given the slightest credibility.”

“Elon Musk says that Ehrlich is ‘Mad as a hatter'”, says PRI President Steven Mosher.  “But I counter that he is clever as a fox.  Early in his career he learned that telling scary stories made him a TV celebrity and helped his books to sell millions of copies.  He has gotten rich from peddling his apocalyptic nonsense.  So is he mad or just a clever con man?  You decide.”

Europe’s Decline: Based on research from the Lancet and United Nations projections, Europe is on the fast track to becoming the “Empty Continent.” Between now and 2100, the continent will see population losses similar to those of the Bubonic Plague of the 1300s.

“A manmade pestilence of infertility is sweeping across the globe,” says PRI President Steven Mosher.  “Entire peoples will cease to exist over time.  Only those who rediscover the value of marriage, family, and children will survive.”

Paying to Populate: The Japanese government has boosted the payment offered to citizens for moving to regions outside of Tokyo. Couples will be paid 1 million yen ($7,500) per child to relocate to regional areas with declining populations.

Communist China

Zen & Benedict: Cardinal Joseph Zen reflected upon Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI this week, sharing his belief that the late leader will become a “powerful intercessor in heaven” for the Catholic church in China. Despite his arrest, Cardinal Zen was permitted to attend the funeral held in Rome yesterday.

Reluctant to Reproduce: According to a survey conducted at the end of 2021, over 80% of the respondents (representative of the Chinese population) expect to have only one child. Only 9% responded with an openness to having three or more children, despite the end of the one- and two-child policies.

Rejection of the Rat Race: In April of last year the “lying flat” movement began and it has continued to gain traction. Now also referred to as the “let it rot” movement, Chinese youth continue to publicly reject productivity, marriage, and family, despite the CCP’s best efforts to combat it.

Pro-Life Around the World

Abortions for Teens: Spain’s lower house of parliament approved a bill that further facilitates abortion in the country. Girls as young as sixteen will be able to acquire abortions without a parent’s consent.

Pro-Life on the Home Front

Pharmacies Sell Abortions: This past Tuesday, the FDA announced that pharmacies will be allowed to offer abortion pills for the first time ever. Pharmacies can now apply for certifications to provide mifepristone, the medication that works in tandem with misoprostol to provide at-home abortions.

“Pro-lifers should boycott pharmacies that sell abortion pills,” says PRI President Steven Mosher.  “Why would we want to patronize stores that profit from killing babies?”

A New Director: On January 1st, Scott Fischbach stepped up as the new executive director of the National Right to Life Committee. Before this, America’s oldest and largest pro-life organization was overseen by Dr. David N. O’Steen, who spent almost forty years in that position.

Kansas’s Abortion Tourism: Due to Planned Parenthood’s recent telemedicine abortion launch, Kansas is becoming an abortion destination. The newest abortuary in Wyandotte County sees only 10 to 15% of patients in-person, relying on online appointments to prescribe the deadly drugs to the rest.

Good News

Nonuplets Head Home: The world’s only known surviving nonuplets finally went home with their parents after 19 months in the hospital. Supported by their Malian government, Abdelkader Arby and Halima Cissé traveled to Morocco for the birth and care of their unique set of nine babies. Arby, the father, shared, “I hope God blesses everyone who doesn’t yet have children, that they can have what we, the parents of nonuplets, currently have. It’s beautiful, a real treasure.”

Quote of the Week

“Marriage and the family are institutions that must be promoted and defended from every possible misrepresentation of their true nature, since whatever is injurious to them is injurious to society itself.”

~ Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, source
