PRI in the Media

The Chinese Rise Up: For the first time since Tiananmen Square in 1989, the Chinese people are rising up in protest against the zero-COVID policy. Despite this rising opposition against the brutal policy, used by the CCP as a means of mass control, Xi Jinping is continuing full steam ahead with his alleged goal of completely eradicating the elusive virus.

The Biden & Xi Saga: PRI President Steven Mosher joined Dan Ball on Real America  to discuss the atrocities occurring in China and the silence from the U.S. Leaders. Both Fauci and Biden have praised Xi Jinping’s approach to COVID in the past few years, neither willing to criticize the country that has lined their pockets.

Zero Tolerance for Zero-Covid: Protests against zero-COVID, as mentioned above, are spreading across China. Triggered by a fire that killed almost a dozen people locked in their apartments for quarantine, these resulting protests have been reported in Shanghai, Beijing, Nanjing, Guangzhou, Xian, and Wuhan.

PRI President Steven Mosher shared with The Federalist, “These people have been languishing under Covid Zero policies … for almost three years now and they’re tired of it. They’re also suffering because the promise of the Chinese Communist Party, that China was going to be in the first rank of nations and that people in China were going to enjoy a standard of living equivalent to what we enjoy in the United States and the West, has turned out to be false.”

Praise for the CCP: World Economic Forum chairman Klaus Schwabb had the audacity to praise China as a “model for many countries,” while the communist country is still actively persecuting religious minorites and commiting genocide against the Uyghurs. Despite its past and present crimes, Schwabb went on to praise its “systemic transformation of the world” and “tremendous achievements” of the past forty years.

Deepening Depopulation

Boosting Alaskan Birth Rates: U.S. birthrates are overall below replacement but one state has a system in place that is boosting fertility. Alaska’s Permanent Fund Dividend pays each resident a portion from the state’s annual oil revenue, and it is proven to boost fertility. This system may save the state from the childless future that many countries around the world are facing.

Shrinking Motherhood: As of 2020, 1-in-6 women had reached the end of their childbearing years without ever giving birth. While this is an increase from 2016, the percentage of women with more than two children has gone down. Foregoing motherhood altogether will most likely continue to be a growing trend in the U.S. as long as the false narrative that children diminish happiness and excitement in life persists.

“The Bible tells us that children are blessings from God,” says PRI President Steven Mosher.  “And so they are.  But we live in an anti-natal age.  The secular humanists have twisted the virtue of childbearing into the vice of overpopulation. Women whose belief systems are formed by TikTok often reject children altogether, but even Christian women often need encouragement to accept the ‘blessings’ of children. We at the Population Research Institute provide such encouragement.”

Singh Seeks Pop Control: Giriraj Singh, Union Minister in India, is pushing for an unbiased two-child policy aimed at the entire population. The leader cited China as an example of successful population control and economic development, despite the current population crisis that China is facing.

Tested for Income Worthiness: Dr. Phil hosted a debate on overpopulation this past week, where a guest speaker defended tests to prove individuals are “income-worthy,” before they are allowed to have children. The speaker, Anton Daniels, pushed this classist opinion that, essentially, poor people should not be allowed to reproduce.

“Another childless atheistI’m guessingwants to impose a kind of ‘literacy test’ on would-be parents,” says PRI President Steven Mosher.  “This is simply eugenics by another name.  What is he going to do with children conceived outside of his plan?  Abort them?”

Communist China

Zen Found Guilty: Barred from testifying and calling witnesses, it is unsurprising that Cardinal Zen, and the five other defendants, were found guilty at the hands of a corrupt system. The sentence is a fine of $512, but Zen may still face further investigation into alleged “collusion with foreign forces.”

“This is merely the first shot over the bow,” says PRI President Steven Mosher.  “The good Cardinal has also been charged with violating the National Security Law, which carries a penalty of life imprisonment.  Will the Communists press such charges in court?  It remains to be seen.”

The Breached Agreement: The CCP has obviously violated the Sino-Vatican through the trial of Cardinal Zen and the recent unapproved installation ceremony. While publicly it appears that the Vatican is silent on these issues, inside sources share that this silence is the cover for covert efforts to limit the damage of these breaches.

Xi’s Plan for Religion: A week prior to the forced installation of an underground bishop, unapproved by the Vatican, the Hong Kong clergy held a conference on the continuing sinicization of the Church in China. The leaders of the conference claimed that independent thinking would continue, no brainwashing involved, but one Hong Kong priest warned that this is a common CCP tactic. This anonymous priest stated, “They would always start with something seemingly benign and harmless (like cultural exchange), but we all know that they have no intention for a real dialogue. Once they think the time is ripe, they will change strategy and begin to crack down on religions.”

Blaming Foreign Forces: University students in China were sent home this past weekend after the rise of protests (discussed above.) According to Radio Free Asia, the CCP is framing this rising rebellion as the work of “hostile foreign forces.”

UN Misdeeds

Woke Opposition Grows: Over sixty countries rallied to remove language on abortion, homosexuality, and transgenderism from a resolution at the U.N. General Assembly last week. The move failed, but still showcased the lack of consensus on woke issues and the inability of progressive countries to foist them upon the world.

Science Gone Mad

Posthumous Reproduction: Through a shocking court approval, the parents of a recently-deceased 19 year-old won the right to have his sperm collected from his body, that they might one day create children genetically related to their son. This opens the door to both new bioethical questions and legal issues over the ownership and use of genetic material.

An End to Baby Trafficking: As world leaders finally admit that surrogacy is human trafficking, countries, such as Russia, are looking to ban the practice. At a recent press conference, “Surrogacy for Foreigners: Trafficking in Children in the International Market,” Vice-Speaker of the State Duma Anna Kuznetsova voiced the hope that a bill banning the international child trade will pass its second reading this December.

Pro-Life Around the World

The Slow Death of Freedom: Religious freedom is slowly being eroded in the U.K. as seen in this case of a woman being asked to move along because she was quietly praying in public. The woman, Livia Tossici-Bolt, was obeying the newly-mandated buffer zones, but was still ordered to move by “Community Safety Accredited Officers.”

“Freedom of speech for pro-lifers is not only being eroded away by Big Tech,” says PRI President Steven Mosher. “But they are being denied rights that their ancestors defended for centuries in certain places, such as in front of abortion clinics.  The Left has Free Speech zones, but ‘No Speech Zones’ are being imposed on social conservatives.”

Eugenic Law Stands: A U.K. woman with Down syndrome, Heidi Crowter, brought an appeal against the country’s eugenic law, which allows abortion up-to-birth for babies diagnosed in-utero with disability. Unfortunately the appeal failed, as court judges decided to uphold the current abortion law once again.

Pro-Life on the Home Front

Silver Linings: While the pro-life movement undeniably suffered some losses in the midterms, a closer look reveals small wins that are keeping the hope for a pro-life future alive. While significant advancement was not made, neither was ground lost. Dozens of states kept pro-life governors in place, and maintained strong Republican majorities in state legislatures.

What’s in the Water?: Students for Life America and SFLAction launched a campaign to bring light to the human remains being flushed into the water system as a result of widespread chemical abortion pill use. This nationwide initiative is calling upon the FDA to respond to these “cemeteries in our sewer systems” which threaten communities around the country and the environment they live in.

Struggle in Kansas: Last week, the ongoing conflict over abortion in Kansas gave another victory to the pro-abortion side, as the remote prescription of abortion drugs was once again allowed. The ruling judge blocked legislation that prohibited the prescription of these dangerous drugs through telemedicine.

Good News

A Win for Catholic Doctors: President Biden’s transgender mandate was blocked this week after his administration missed the deadline to appeal the mandate’s August overrule. This is a major win for Catholic doctors, saving them from a future of forced participation in abortions and transgender treatments.

Police Aids Delivery: A Fort Worth policeman helped deliver a woman’s baby, after she and her husband made an emergency stop on their way to the hospital. Mother Leah Reeves was in active labor and with no time to get to the hospital, Officer Rafael Salazar helped bring her healthy baby boy into the world.

A Joyful Gender Reveal: With six sons at home, once-again-expecting parents Sarah and Tim were sure that their newest addition would also be a baby in blue. But an exciting, confetti-filled gender reveal surprised the entire family with the news that a little girl would be joining the family!

Quote of the Week

“Advent, in a particular way, invites us to consider the restoration of the family. … The more we can allow God to heal us as children and parents, the more our families will take on the likeness of the Holy Family.”
