Deepening Depopulation

Paying Parents for Kids: Countries across Europe are recognizing the necessity of pro-natal policies to counteract falling fertility rates. Both Eastern and Western Europe are predicted to have below replacement fertility for the foreseeable future. Due to this, many countries within these regions are introducing monetary incentives, along with improved child benefits and tax breaks.

Communist China

Propaganda and Spyware: Tencent, China’s largest social media and video game company, has quietly been gaining commanding stakes in the most popular video game companies around the world. As more parents turn to video games to supplement their children’s education, the CCP could be a major influence on children across the globe.

New Incentives Announced: This past Tuesday, 17 Chinese government departments released new guidelines to support the development of a fertility-friendly society. These guidelines encourage the births of up to three children, by improving “policies in finance, tax, housing, employment, education and other fields.”

“It remains to be seen how many third children will be conceived as a result of this new effort,” says PRI President Steven Mosher. “I suspect that 40 years of anti-natal propaganda will continue to suppress birth rates well into the future, regardless of what minor inducements are offered to prospective parents to have a second and third child.”

Science Gone Mad

Transgender in the Womb: Leading psychologist at Boston Children’s Hospital, Dr. Kerry McGregor, PsyD, has claimed that children know they are transgender as early as in the womb. The video containing this declaration was made private almost immediately but did not escape unnoticed by the public. The hospital is known for affirming transgender children as young as two and boasts of its pioneering provision of transgender surgeries to minors.

“The same people who deny the humanity of the unborn are now claiming that unborn children can sense their gender,” says PRI President Steven Mosher. “As if the transgender craze weren’t bizarre enough already. It’s not enough for them to claim that two-year-olds and five-year-olds should be allowed to freely ‘transition,’ they now have to impose their delusions on the unborn.”

Engineering Babies for Trans: A fertility treatment catered to transgender men (biological females) is now available. The three-parent technique combines pieces of the female-to-male transgender’s egg with their partner’s egg, which are then fertilized by a sperm donor to create a child that is biologically related to both the trans-man and their partner. This unethical procedure was designed with the incorrect idea that there is a “right to reproduce” for all human beings, no matter the cost or method of production.

“These Frankenstein-ian creatures need to be banned,” says PRI President Steven Mosher. “They serve no purpose but the vanity of the adults involved. Once you do this cut-and-paste job with the eggs, how many embryos are sacrificed? Only God knows.”

Pro-Life Around the World

Artificial Conception in Cameroon: The West African Country of Cameroon has voted on a bill that legalizes medically-assisted reproduction. In response, the nation’s Catholic bishops condemned the bill for its blatant disregard for Christian anthropology and the subsequent host of ethical and doctrinal issues.

Lax Assisted Suicide Law: Euthanasia in Canada is an issue of major concern, as the laws surrounding the practice loosen and lives are snuffed out without hesitation. In this case, Alan Nichols was euthanized upon request, citing hearing loss as his reason for wishing to die. Tragically ironic, Nickols had initially been hospitalized for fears that he was suicidal. His family reported the incident to police and health authorities, sharing that he had not met the requirements for euthanasia and was “basically put to death.”

German Catholics for Abortion: According to a recent poll, a majority of German Catholics dislike “the fact that the Pope and the Church speak out against abortions,” despite this being a key Church teaching. At 58%, this majority is not far behind the 67% of Lutherans that hold the same position. Germany only allows abortion up to 12 weeks, but for the Catholic Church, abortion is not acceptable at any stage.

Pro-Life on the Home Front

Vasectomies on the Rise: Since the Dobbs decision that overturned Roe v. Wade, vasectomies have been on the rise. Already a commonplace procedure in today’s society, this latest push for male sterilization is motivated by the fear that abortion access is disappearing. “Vasectomy King” Doug Stein, known for advertising the procedure as “an act of love,” claimed his business has tripled since the overturn.

“I see it as an act of selfishness and the ultimate denial of one of the fundamental purposes of man’s existence: to be fruitful and multiply,” says PRI President Steven Mosher.

Politically Pro-Life: Indiana’s abortion ban was recently voted in, scheduled to replace the current law on September 15th, and the process has been eye-opening for pro-life leaders. Terry Schilling, President of the American Principles Project, shared that other states must follow Indiana with the abortion fight “solved politically” in the post-Roe world.

Trigger Law in Idaho: The Department of Justice sued Idaho over its pro-life trigger law, which was set to take effect on August 25th. The trigger law would ban abortion, except for a narrow allowance in the case of a medical emergency. But it is at the center of this lawsuit because it does not explicitly allow for abortions in the case of life or health-threatening pregnancies. This lawsuit is an attempt by the pro-abortion administration to keep the procedure legal, by purposefully misinterpreting Idaho’s trigger law.

Good News

100 Fostered Children: For forty years Tony Dungy, the Superbowl-winning coach, and his wife have been generous foster parents. The couple has fostered over 100 children, while also raising their own 11 children. Unabashedly pro-life, the two are strong advocates, especially against those that attempt to use Christianity to defend abortion.

Quote of the Week

“Those who hold the reins of government should not forget that it is the duty of public authority by appropriate laws and sanctions to defend the lives of the innocent, and this all the more so since those whose lives are endangered and assailed cannot defend themselves.”

~Pope Pius XI, Casti Connubi
