It’s no secret in foreign capitals that the Biden-Harris administration has abused the power and prestige of the United States to advance the cause of abortion and transgender ideology worldwide.
Just consider the constant stream of executive orders flowing from the Biden’s-Harris White House since 2021. These have imposed Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policies on thousands of institutions and organizations receiving federal government funding in America and around the world.
It goes without saying that the “Inclusion” part of the DEI acronym includes abortion. It should be called DIE.
Progressives are pretending that Harris watched all this happen from a safe distance defies the reality that Harris has been Joe Biden’s chosen prime mover in the administration’s efforts to impose these policies overseas. Biden has publicly acknowledged Harris’s handling of both foreign and domestic policy issues, underscoring that she was not just as a figurehead but an integral part of the decision-making process in crafting and implementing such policies.
As Biden himself recently attested, “she helped pass the all the laws that are being employed now she was a major player in everything we’ve done including passage of legislation which we were told we could never pass and so she’s been and her staff is interlocked with mine in terms of all the things we’re doing.”
Nowhere is this more true than in the areas of life and family, both domestically and overseas. Despite the relentless effort of the domestic and international media to soften Kamala’s image, they have not been able to disguise the malevolent character of her policies regarding family, children, and life itself to overseas observers like ourselves.
We have seen Kamala Harris visiting countries around the world strong arming leaders to to embrace programs to reduce their populations, increase the influence of gender ideology, and diminish the moral influence of the Catholic Church. Hundreds of millions of dollars in US taxpayer funding have been used both as a carrot and stick to coerce countries in Africa and Latin America to comply.
If elected, Harris’s ability to enforce her will overseas will be even stronger. The most radically pro-abortion candidate ever to run for president will have the entire resources of the federal government to use to pursue these aims.
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) alone dispenses billions to countries around the world. Although the particulars of the approaches used in policies used in Latin America might differ from those used in Africa and Europe, the goal remains the same: the extermination of the unborn and the destruction of the natural family, consisting of a father and a mother and their natural or adopted children.
Pro-lifers in over thirty Latin American countries have not been fooled. A confidential report recently presented to the International Right-To-Life Committee (IRTLC) by PRI affiliates and allies shows how the U.S., under the Biden-Harris administration, has used its influence and funding to back pro-abortion campaigns in Colombia, Mexico, Bolivia, Ecuador, Chile, and Paraguay.
These multi-pronged attacks target all branches of government—the executive, the legislative, and the judicial—and faithful pro-life Catholics are always the ultimate enemy.
Of course, promises to provide (or withhold) U.S. political and financial support is always part of the package.
Neydy Casillas, Vice-President of the Global Center for Human Rights (GCHR), says that we have good reason to fear that Harris would greatly increase the already significant U.S. support of pro-abortion efforts at the level of the Organization of American States.
Casillas noted in a recent GCHR report that the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights and the Inter-American Court of Human Rights are already receiving generous grants. She fears that “Current initiatives in favor of hormone treatments for ‘transgender’ children and legal abortion will intensify because it’s Kamala Harris’ agenda.”
The U.S. government efforts to corrode traditional the traditional Catholic faith and morals of Latin American countries are never ending. Every week sees a new initiatives designed to deride and erode the morals of Catholics in U.S. embassies abroad. From Paraguay to Honduras, from El Salvador to the Dominican Republic, outright insults are directed by U.S. diplomats at the morals of Catholic countries and at those like ourselves who uphold them.
Far-Reaching and Destructive Initiatives Are Already Under Way
These initiatives have already born fruit in Mexico. The new president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, has long been one of the strongest pro-abortion militants in Mexican politics. Gustavo Petro, a communist ex-guerrilla and active abortion promoter, remains in power in Colombia.
While it is true that Argentina’s Javier Milei represents a counterweight in the region, this may not be enough to get the region back on track, especially if a future Harris administration seriously targets Argentina, as appears likely.
Over in Europe, trouble is brewing as well. The Biden-Harris administration has joined with French leader Macron to push what we call “the gender agenda” all around the world.
The “French-American Roadmap,” a White House document dated June 8, 2024, reveals the details. It states:
“France and the United States affirm their support for sexual and reproductive health and rights. Women should be able to access reproductive health care, including contraception and safe abortion. Both countries defend sexual and reproductive health and rights in multilateral and bilateral relations, advocate for ambitious language in international negotiating bodies, and engage in existing coalitions, such as the Generation Equality Forum’s coalition of action on bodily autonomy and sexual and reproductive health and rights. Both countries also provide bilateral and multilateral assistance to partner countries, international organizations, and local civil society actors to support access to family planning and other critical, high-quality sexual and reproductive health services.”
The Generation Equality Forum (GEF) mentioned in the White House document is particularly troubling. The Forum coalition met in Mexico City in March and in Paris from 30 June – 2 July 2021.
There is launched a launched a 5-year action plan to achieve what it called “irreversible progress towards gender equality, founded on a series of concrete, ambitious and transformative actions, including $40 Billion in financial commitments.”
It is perhaps no surprise that the organization behind the Generation Equality Forum is the UN’s Women’s Office, which intends to “accelerat[e] the gender agenda worldwide”
Nor is it any surprise that the Biden-Harris White House has joined together with the French government to impose this agenda on developing countries around the world, using bilateral or multilateral assistance programs as leverage. Bribes, in other words.
This latest effort at ideological colonization of other countries by globalist elites is not without its opponents, including Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
During the G7 summit in June 2024, Meloni found valiantly against the inclusion of a statement on statement promoting “reproductive health” and abortion that was being championed by France and the Biden-Harris Administration. Meloni triumphed over her opponents, and the statement did not appear in the final communiqué.
It is all but certain that a Harris-Walz administration, if elected, will not only continue to push abortion and gender ideology on other countries, but will redouble their efforts in that regard.
Pro-lifers around the world are greatly concerned. The lives of millions of unborn children are at stake in the upcoming U.S. election.
