PRI Updates Web Site, Releases New Video

You may have noticed that this Weekly Briefing looks a little different from the last one. That’s because we’re updating our email format—and our web site.

Since the Internet continues to develop and grow, our web presence has been developing and growing, too. Over the summer months, we’ve been working hard on updating our web site: www.pop.org. We have been paying close attention to input from all the people who use our site, and we have been improving it accordingly.

What We’ve Done

As you can see, we’ve given it a bit of a facelift, adding more graphic content, and making the whole design simpler and less cluttered. But under the hood, a lot of work has been done, as well. We’ve made it more efficient, even easier to use, and more integrated with the rest of the web, especially social networking sites like YouTube and Facebook.

We have also created a new video, the goal of which is to synthesize PRI’s mission and purpose in a compelling way. With the video, combined with the cleaner, more accessible web site, we hope to make PRI’s message even easier to connect with and to share with other people.

At the same time rest assured, all of the features that you’ve come to rely on will still be readily available.

So what exactly have we done?

Easy access to PRI’s social network on Facebook and YouTube.

We have reached thousands of people through Facebook and YouTube. Our new web site makes it even easier to access these sites and to share articles and information. With the click of a button at the bottom of any PRI article, you can instantly share it across the Internet.

A detailed, organized research portal.

Given the wealth of detailed information you have come to rely on over the last 20 years, our new site works hard to make that information accessible. Check out our new research portal, which gives you unprecedented access to our investigations and reports. We’re still updating this feature, adding new and more detailed content all the time. If you have any comments or questions about it, please let us know.

More Interactivity

We realize that interactivity is the heart and soul of today’s
Internet. Because of this, we are working to make your relationship
with PRI more interactive, as well. Every Weekly Briefing we
release will simultaneously be released as a blog post on our
homepage—which means you can publish your thoughts and
comments on our Weekly Briefings, and share your comments with
other readers. You can provide ready input on our Facebook
pages
.

We have also made it much, much easier to sign up for the
Weekly Briefing: just put your information into a form on
our homepage, click “go,” then “sign me up,”
and you’ll get a confirmation email from us. As soon as you reply to
this confirmation email, you’re signed up.

Project Visibility

We have detailed pages for each of our current projects (check out our China project, for example). We are committed to keeping you up-to-date on our current projects, so that you’ll know just how and where your hard-earned donations are being spent.

Overall, this web site is just a small part of what our larger
mission has always been: to be a light in the darkness against the
myth of overpopulation, and against those who would seek to control
women and families throughout the world by force. We hope that,
along with all of our valuable programs, our continually
evolving web presence will help us to do this even more
effectively.
