PRI in the Media
CCP’s Deadly Immortality Quest: In a recent article for NTD, PRI President Steven Mosher’s remarks on EpochTV’s American Thought Leaders were cited, exposing the CCP’s grisly quest for longevity. Mr. Mosher explained that as early as the 1960s, Communist leaders sought to extend their lives with transfusions of young people’s blood. By the 1980s, they turned to organ transplants, laying the groundwork for today’s industrial-scale organ harvesting. The 2019 China Tribunal confirmed, beyond a reasonable doubt, that Falun Gong practitioners and other dissidents have had their organs forcibly harvested, constituting crimes against humanity.
Deaths Outpace Births in France: This week, LifeSiteNews featured research from last week’s PRI Insider, in which we revealed that France recorded more deaths than births in 2024. This was a “historic demographic turning point.” The news outlet highlighted PRI President Steven Mosher’s warning that subsidies have failed to lift fertility and that only bold reforms, such as tax relief for young families, could reverse the crisis. Mr. Mosher also cautioned that France’s reliance on mass immigration as a “solution” will only worsen cultural, social, and political problems.
Deepening Depopulation
Greece Closes 766 Schools: Greece is shuttering 766 schools—over 5% of the nation’s total—after plunging fertility has left classrooms empty. Primary schools took the hardest hit, with closures rising from 247 in 2018–2019 to 324 this year, while kindergartens jumped from 312 to 358. In just seven years, the number of primary students has fallen by 111,000, a 19% drop. Greece’s fertility rate has collapsed to 1.35, among the lowest in Europe. Despite cash bonuses for newborns, deaths nearly doubled births in 2023. Officials warn that the crisis threatens the survival of Greece’s society and economy.
West Confronts Birthrate Collapse: Western governments are waking up to the demographic crisis. France, Spain, Italy, Hungary, and the U.K. have rolled out new pronatalist policies this year. These policies include longer paid parental leave, childcare subsidies, housing aid, and tax breaks for mothers. In the U.S., Congress expanded family tax credits in July. Yet, experts admit such measures barely move fertility, boosting rates by only 0.2–0.3 children per woman. French President Emmanuel Macron has called for “demographic rearmament,” while Elon Musk warns, “There will be no West if this continues.”
Czechia’s Population Shrinks: Czechia’s population fell by 27,200 in the first half of 2025, dropping to 10.88 million, according to the Czech Statistical Office. Births sank to 37,400, down 4,900 from 2024 and marking a fourth consecutive year of decline. Deaths rose to 57,700, which is approximately 2,000 more than the previous year. Nearly half of children (47.3%) were born outside marriage, marriages dropped 9% to 17,300, and divorces held steady at 10,400. Demographers warn that the downward spiral mirrors Europe’s broader population collapse.
Americans Want Children: A new Gallup poll shows Americans still see larger families as ideal, even as birth rates fall. On average, adults said the “ideal” family has 2.7 children, with more than 80% preferring at least two. Yet, the numbers lag far behind: the U.S. fertility rate has dropped to just 1.6 births per woman. Preferences differ by faith and politics; 53% of weekly churchgoers favor three or more children, while Democrats prefer smaller families and Republicans favor bigger ones.
“Our goal as a country should be to allow people the economic and cultural freedom to act on their fertility desires,” says Mr. Mosher. “Let’s reduce government regulations and build more single-family dwellings, which are the best place to raise a large family. Let’s try to return to the idea of paying a ‘family wage’ so that one parent can stay home to care for young children. Let’s make birth free so that young couples do not leave the hospital with their newborns wondering how they are going to pay the hospital bill. Let’s recognize that ‘higher’ education is often a waste of time and money, and an invitation to decades of student debt. Let’s encourage young couples to marry and have children early, rather than late.”
Communist China
Tax Dollars Fund China’s Military: A new House Select Committee report, “Fox in the Henhouse,” reveals how taxpayer-funded research is fueling China’s military. Between 2023 and 2025, more than 1,400 Pentagon-backed papers were co-authored with Chinese entities tied to the People’s Liberation Army, including the infamous “Seven Sons of National Defense.” With no central oversight, weak compliance checks, and partnerships with blacklisted institutions, U.S. innovation is flowing straight into Beijing’s hands—potentially to be used against America. Congress is now pushing the SAFE Research Act to stop this dangerous pipeline.
UN Misdeeds
WHO Attacks Conscience Rights: The World Health Organization (WHO) has released a new edition of its 2022 abortion guidelines, escalating its attack on conscience protections for pro-life medical professionals. The updated language highlights a UN-funded review claiming no country has effectively regulated conscientious objection while ensuring “access” to abortion—paving the way for WHO to label objection to abortion “indefensible.” Despite there being no “right to abortion,” WHO and other UN bodies continue citing each other to fabricate one. These guidelines lay the groundwork for UN treaty bodies to eventually declare pro-life conscience rights a violation of “women’s rights.”
Pro-Life Around the World
Canada’s Culture of Death Grows: Canada’s euthanasia regime is spiraling further out of control. A self-described “death doula” in Ontario is looking to fundraise $500,000 to launch a “sanctuary” where people can undergo assisted suicide in “private, home-like rooms.” The move comes as euthanasia deaths soared to 15,343 in 2024—nearly 5% of all Canadian deaths, and a 15.8% increase from the previous year. Such “euthanasia houses” exploit society’s most vulnerable, especially as reports show widespread coercion in Ontario’s program. With Canada already preparing to expand euthanasia to those with mental illness and even children, the nation has “fallen off a cliff.”
Queensland Imposes Child Abortions: In August, the Supreme Court of Queensland granted a 12-year-old girl permission to undergo an abortion, despite ruling that she was too young to consent to the procedure. Doctors admitted she lacked understanding of the risks, but sought a court order to protect themselves from liability. The girl, a victim of sexual assault, becomes the third child under 13 ordered to undergo an abortion by the court in just two months. Such rulings not only kill unborn babies but also are highly likely to cause trauma to these young mothers: studies show 34% of women suffer adverse emotional impacts from abortion.
Pro-Life on the Home Front
Trump Slams Aborted Baby Research: President Trump and Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. are cutting off federal funding for scientific research that uses aborted fetal tissue. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) confirmed that 17 Biden-era grants—worth $22 million in 2024 alone—will not be renewed, many of which involved implanting aborted babies’ tissue into animals. Mary Szoch of Family Research Council has praised the move, urging continued vigilance to ensure America never again bankrolls experiments built on the bodies of aborted children.
California Bill Expands Abortion Secrecy: California lawmakers are advancing AB 260, a bill that would allow abortion providers to mail abortion pills anonymously, removing not only the prescriber’s name, but also the name of the patient and pharmacy. Shield laws already fuel 12,000 mail-order abortions each month, many shipped illegally into pro-life states. AB 260 would strip accountability and turn California into a safe haven for abortion crime, putting countless mothers and their unborn children in grave danger.
“The neoMarxists at National Public Radio have produced a fawning report about a proposed law in California that would allow the abortion pill to be dispensed and received anonymously,” says Mr. Mosher. “If young girls suffer—or even die—as a result of this reckless law, there will be no consequences for those who provided the instrument of her, and her baby’s, destruction.”
Trump Restores Pro-Life Policy: The Trump administration is reversing a Biden-era rule that forced abortion into the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) hospitals. Under Biden, VA claimed abortion was “what our nation owes” veterans, but Trump is restoring the bipartisan policy banning abortions in VA facilities. Pro-life leaders praised the move, stressing abortion is never health care. Family Research Council’s Mary Szoch said, “Our veterans deserve love, support, gratitude, and actual health care.” Our veterans do not need the intentional killing of their children.
Abortion Industry Opens Pregnancy Clinics: Pro-abortion activists are now mimicking pregnancy help centers by launching so-called “pro-choice pregnancy centers.” After years of attacking life-affirming pregnancy centers, calling them “fake clinics,” they now copy their services by providing tests, ultrasounds, and classes, all while pushing abortion. By contrast, authentic centers served 800,000 people in 2022, provided $367 million in aid, and helped avert 828,000 abortions. With 97% client satisfaction and tens of thousands of volunteers, the evidence is clear: true pregnancy help saves lives, while abortion-backed lookalikes only sow confusion and divert resources.
Good News
Record Crowd for Life March: Over ten thousand pro-lifers filled London’s streets on September 6 for the UK’s 11th annual March for Life, a record-breaking number and vastly outnumbering a small pro-abortion counter-protest. With this year’s theme of “Human rights for all humans,” the march featured testimonies from abortion survivors, students, and organizers like Isabel Vaughan-Spruce, who urged courage in defending the unborn. Speakers reminded participants that nearly 11 million babies have been lost to abortion in the UK since 1968. Organizers praised the diverse, joy-filled crowd as a powerful witness against Britain’s extreme abortion laws—and a spark for lasting cultural change.
