March for Life 2024

For those of you attending the March for Life, we pray for your safety and success in this good work! Members of PRI’s own team will be in attendance, marching for the movement that shapes all our lives.

“The annual March for Life is a poignant reminder that 65 million babies have been lost to abortion since the infamous Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision,” says PRI President Steven Mosher. “It also provides the pro-life movement with an opportunity to remind their fellow Americans that 900,000 of their unborn brothers and sisters continue to be sacrificed annually. We must continue to show the flag in Washington, D.C. until that number is reduced to zero.”

Breaking News

Milei Takes on the WEF: Javier Milei, Argentina’s new president, called out the population control movement and “bloody abortion agenda” in his speech at the World Economic Forum. Milei pointed out how socialists and Neo-Marxists have managed to plant the seeds of these movements in Western society, “by appropriating the media, culture, universities, and also international organizations.” These movements, funded by globalist elites, have led to the normalization of hijacking fertility via contraception and ending unborn lives via abortion. Argentina’s president clearly sees the greatest danger facing the world today, which is the treatment of human beings, especially the unborn, as disposable. Milei was direct in the delivery of his message, stating, “Today I’m here to tell you that the Western World is in danger, and it is in danger because those who are supposed to defend the values of the West are co-opted by a vision of the world that…leads to socialism and thereby to poverty.”

“Argentinian President, Javier Milei, condemned population control and the abortion agenda at the Davos summit,” says Mr. Mosher. “I am sure that nearly everyone in the crowd, which largely consists of abortion and population control supporters, was shocked. The man is fearless, which is just what Argentina needs to become great again. Make Argentina Great Again, Javier!”

Deepening Depopulation

Babies Save the World: Elon Musk’s pro-natal opinion is up for the world to see in Times Square. EveryLife, a pro-life diaper company, rented two electronic billboards for their “Make More Babies” campaign. One displays Elon Musk’s quote, “Having Children is Saving the World.” While the second displays EveryLife’s video ad combatting “population control ideologies.” The billboards will appear regularly for the next five days. Discussing this campaign, EveryLife co-founder and president Sarah Gabriel Seifert said, “There’s a profound need for more children in the world, and EveryLife is here to take a bold stance that we disagree with population control ideologies. Our ‘Make More Babies’ campaign isn’t just about promoting our brand — it’s a powerful affirmation of our core conviction that every child is a gift, deserving love, protection, and support. No other diaper company will speak out and say the same.”

“The greatest entrepreneur of our age understands the value of human capital,” says Mr. Mosher.  “He also, as the owner of Twitter, possesses the biggest megaphone in the world. Having Musk on record as endorsing the idea of having children will not only help to boost the birthrate, it will help to save the lives of unborn children.”

Communist China

Arrested for Trafficking: Two Vietnamese women were arrested for attempting to sell minors to a buyer in China. Ven Thi Hoai and Cut Thi Ngoc were sentenced to twelve years for their involvement in human trafficking. The two planned to sell Hoai’s thirteen-year-old sister and her fourteen-year-old friend to an individual in China who arranges Vietnamese brides for Chinese men. The police intercepted the group of girls en route and Hoai subsequently confessed to the crime. This crime is motivated by the severe gender imbalance in China, caused by the one-child policy. The lack of marriageable women has caused a heinous cycle of human trafficking from neighboring countries, which exploits vulnerable women.

“The sex trafficking of women and girls into China from neighboring countries like Vietnam, North Korea, Thailand and Burma is nothing new,” says Mr. Mosher. “It has been going on since the early days of the one-child policy, which led to the deaths of millions upon millions of baby girls in utero and after birth. The only surprising thing about this story is that the Vietnamese criminals were arrested by the Vietnamese police before they reached the border. Otherwise, the two girls being trafficked, who were only 13 and 14 years old, would have disappeared into China never to be seen again. They would have wound up as unwilling brides or in brothels.”

UN Misdeeds

WHO Doubles Down: The World Health Organization (WHO) is doubling down on its advancement of the “sexual and reproductive health” agenda. Director General Tedros Ghebreyesus reaffirmed his commitment in the January 1st WHO bulletin, emphasizing the inclusion of “gender-affirming care” and “sexual rights” in future policies. This boils down to a continued push for transgender ideology and abortion rights to be forced globally, despite the consistent rejection of these notions at the UN General Assembly and the World Health Assembly.

Science Gone Mad

Modern-Day Eugenics: In its column “The Ethicist,” the New York Times recently addressed the question of whether prenatal genetic testing amounts to eugenics. The answer is obviously no, but sidesteps the fact that the intention of genetic testing matters. Some couples use prenatal genetic testing to adequately prepare for the arrival of their baby, whether there will be special needs or not. But this is not always the case. In some countries, including Iceland and Denmark, genetic testing is the normal procedure (though not required) for all pregnant women. It also so happens that both of these countries have nearly eliminated Down syndrome in their nations because all Down syndrome babies are aborted. There is a eugenic mindset in these countries against disabled children. Using prenatal genetic testing to determine whether or not a baby should be aborted is clearly eugenic and occurs around the world today.

Pro-life Around the World

Peru Stands for Life: The South American pro-life movement has won a major victory in Peru! This past November, the Peruvian Congress approved Law No. 785, also known as the “Law that Recognizes Rights to the Conceived.” This law determines that life begins at conception and recognizes the unborn baby in the womb as legally protected. The government has even established that “the child, both born and unborn, has its own identity, including a unique and unrepeatable genetic identity and a personality independent of his mother.” Law No. 785 passed with 72 votes in favor and only 26 votes against. It will serve to strengthen the Peruvian pro-life movement against attacks from pro-abortion advocates.

“PRI’s Latin American office, under the direction of Carlos Polo, played a key role in educating legislators, and the public at large, in the importance of passing this legislation,” says Mr. Mosher. “The new law will also serve as a template for other Latin American countries to follow.”

Parents Protest: Last year, the UK government announced that it aimed to update Northern Ireland’s “Relationships and Sexuality Education (RSE)” with information on the “prevention of early pregnancy and access to abortion.” However, a recent public consultation, which had 13,461 responses, found that nearly 75% of parents in Northern Ireland are against this government proposal. Unsurprisingly, these parents don’t want this abortion education pushed in all schools, including Catholic schools. The UK government already enforced this education in England, where students are taught how to get an abortion without parental knowledge and are told to book an appointment with an abortion facility whether or not they have confirmed they’re pregnant.

Pro-Life on the Home Front

Ambassador for the Unborn: The unborn do not have a voice to fight for themselves, which is why so many pro-life leaders and organizations speak on their behalf. Now, one journalist is calling for an ambassador, or even two co-ambassadors, for the unborn. The United States has an ambassador-at-large for religious freedom, so why not an ambassador established to represent the tens of thousands of unborn babies at risk in our country? The unborn are the world’s future. As stated in this article, “Babies are God’s proof that the world should go on.” To build a culture of life, starting in the U.S. and spreading across the globe, we need to protect life from its very start.

“An Ambassador for the Unborn would encourage other countries to defend Life,” says Mr. Mosher. “The creation of such an ambassadorial-level post, and the appointment of a committed pro-life person to fill it, would be a reflection of our own Declaration of Independence, which declares that all people have a God-given right to Life.”

Protecting Pregnancy Centers: Last week, the House of Representatives Ways and Means Committee passed the Supporting Pregnant and Parenting Women and Families Act. This Act protects pregnancy centers from discrimination and ensures that they retain eligibility for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) funding. This legislation was a direct response to a rule suggested by the Biden administration within the Health and Human Services (HHS) that could render such centers ineligible for this aid. This move has received support from pro-life individuals and organizations in this battle against the Biden administration’s blatant pro-abortion bias.

Risks to Women: Senator Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee has introduced pro-life legislation aimed at protecting the health of both the mother and child. Blackburn’s Women’s Right to Know Act would set medical requirements that abortionists would have to meet before they can abort a woman’s unborn baby. These requirements would include explaining all the medical risks associated with abortions and the baby’s probable gestational age and developmental features, at least 24 hours before the procedure. “The Woman’s Right to Know Act protects the sanctity of life for women and children across the nation,” Blackburn shared. “This bill would set long overdue nationwide standards that most states have already implemented so that women across the nation are provided access to vital information by their medical provider.”

Mississippi Helps Moms: This week, Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch released the free Mississippi Access to Maternal Assistance (MAMA) mobile app. The app’s goal is to connect pregnant women and mothers to private and public resources available across the state. Based on the MAMA website, which was launched in October 2023, the app is designed with the goal of connecting mothers directly to the resources and services in three clicks or less. Both the app and the website are organized into nine categories, including the following: pregnancy, health, adoption, food, goods, safety, money, childcare, and jobs. Since October, over 100 new services have been added to the service directory and this number of resources continues to grow.

Good News

A Mother First: Last year, Hannah Neeleman was crowned Mrs. America for 2023. She made the news, not only for winning the competition but for sharing that she has felt most empowered after the birth of each of her seven babies. “I have felt this feeling seven times now as I bring these sacred souls to the earth,” she said through tears. “After I hold that newborn baby in my arms, the feeling of motherhood and bringing them to the earth is the most empowering feeling I have ever felt.” This year she represents America at the Mrs. World pageant, despite giving birth twelve days prior to the competition. Her eighth baby accompanied her on this journey as Neeleman continued to breastfeed throughout the preparation for the pageant.

Quote of the Week

“Of all experiences available on earth, family life is the most wonderful, profound and rewarding – not only in this world but abundantly for the next too. No wonder the family is the powerhouse of society and is the institution most attacked by evil forces.”
