PRI in the Media
China Needs Christianity: The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) claims to want to embrace Chinese culture through Sinicization, but in reality, their “Sinicization” is a push for the public to conform to Communist ideology. The CCP opposes genuine Sinicization, especially when it involves the seamless incorporation of Christianity into Chinese cultural values. Mr. Mosher exposed this in his book, The Devil and Communist China, which illustrates the singularly destructive power of the CCP. The Communist version of Sinicization, Mosher explained, “means replacing the worship of God with the worship of the CCP and its ‘core leader,’ Xi Jinping.” The Chinese people and their rich cultural heritage have no true future under this oppressive and godless regime. China urgently needs an authentic engagement with Christianity, as it is deeply in need of spiritual renewal and a fresh sense of purpose.
Deepening Depopulation
Germany Lacks Workers: A new study revealed that Germany’s demographic issues are so bad that it will not be able to maintain its prosperity without significant immigration from non-EU countries. To sustain its workforce, the country may need about 288,000 workers each year from around the world through 2040. Due to the low fertility rate, the labor force will shrink in the coming decades as the population ages. According to projections, by 2040, the number of workers will fall by around 10% – from the current 46.4 million to 41.9 million. By 2060, the labor force is expected to shrink further by 25% to 35.1 million.
Communist China
CCP Over the Vatican: Bishop Joseph Shen Bin of Shanghai, who has a history of supporting the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), recently emphasized the CCP’s influence over the Church more than that of the Vatican. Speaking at a diocesan seminar in November, Shen focused on the “Sinicization of Religion” in Shanghai, which attendees noted aligned more with CCP ideology than with adapting religion to Chinese customs. Despite being brought into communion with the Vatican under the 2018 Vatican-China deal, Shen did not address the Vatican Synod or Pope Francis’s teachings, instead promoting a vision of the Church that mirrors socialist ideals and “Chinese-style modernization.”
UN Misdeeds
Family Resolution Passes: Many culturally traditional countries fought to remove a reference to “reproductive health,” a keyword for abortion, from the final draft of a UN resolution on the family and succeeded. Burundi and other delegations from Africa worked tirelessly to ensure the removal of the term and the resolution’s unanimous adoption. While many delegates from these countries, including Egypt and Russia, were thrilled by the outcome, some delegates from Western countries were bitterly disappointed that the resolution did not include any abortion language or recognition of homosexual couples as families. Despite this, the resolution was unanimously adopted in the third committee of the General Assembly on November 20th.
Pro-Life Around the World
Catholics Fined for the Truth: The French media regulator, ARCOM, has fined a conservative news channel €100,000 (~ $106,000) for airing a Catholic program in which abortion was labeled as the leading cause of death worldwide. In February 2024, the CNews program “En quête d’esprit” broadcasted an infographic displaying the fact that abortion causes 73 million deaths annually. The display of this fact sparked widespread criticism. Critics claimed that abortion should not be classified as a “cause of death” because they do not consider a fetus to be a living being. This led to an investigation, public backlash, and calls for an apology from the channel. Ultimately, CNews apologized for the “error” and retracted the graphic, and ARCOM fined the channel for failing to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the information presented.
“Abortion IS the leading cause of death worldwide,” says Mr. Mosher. “The French government is abusing its authority by attempting to censor the truth while itself engaging in misinformation and disinformation.”
Canada Rejects Life: Quebec has launched a $7.5 million action plan to expand access to abortion and contraception from 2024 to 2027. This move was announced by Martine Biron, the provincial minister for women’s issues. According to Biron, this new action plan has four major objectives: to “inform and raise awareness among the population about free choice and combat disinformation,” to “improve access to abortion services for women who seek them throughout the country,” to “facilitate access to reliable and truthful information and services on contraception,” and “research, monitoring and consultations.” These translate to further suppression of the pro-life movement in Canada, including the censoring of any voices who speak against abortion and contraception.
In reaction to this news, Mr. Mosher stated, “As if Quebec’s birth rate–the lowest in Canada–needs to be lowered any further. People think they are boarding the ‘choice’ train, but in reality, they are getting railroaded to extinction.”
Pro-Life on the Home Front
Republicans Demand Accountability: A group of Republican lawmakers, including Sen. Marsha Blackburn, Rep. Chris Smith, Rep. Robert Aderholt, and Rep. Claudia Tenney, has requested a report from the U.S. Government Accountability Office on federal funding to abortion providers like Planned Parenthood for fiscal years 2022-2024. These Republicans want to hold abortion giants accountable for the federal funding they receive. The request followed statements from Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, who aim to reduce federal spending on unauthorized or misdirected expenditures, such as funds to organizations like Planned Parenthood. Rep. Smith expressed hope that the report will support efforts to defund Planned Parenthood and stop taxpayer money from supporting the abortion industry. Taxpayers should not be forced to fund abortion through their taxes.
“The Congress, which is supposed to authorize all spending by the federal government, actually has almost no idea how many hundreds of millions of dollars is sent to Planned Parenthood every year,” says Mr. Mosher. “We need a blanket prohibition on any funds being sent to the abortion giant, on the grounds that each and every dollar sent in some way enables the killing to continue. Planned Parenthood does not provide primary health care, it provides primary death care.”
The List of Crimes: Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider, has faced numerous allegations of abuse, fraud, racism, pregnancy discrimination, privacy breaches, Medicaid fraud, and retaliation. Despite these claims, it has continued to receive millions in taxpayer funding. Since 2000, the organization has performed over 7.1 million abortions and received nearly $10.7 billion from taxpayers. Founded on principles of eugenics, it now accounts for 40% of all U.S. abortions. Live Action has compiled a new analysis breaking down all of Planned Parenthood’s infractions, including, but not limited to, misleading marketing, overbilling, violating patient privacy, falsely claiming to provide mammograms, misinforming women about pregnancy development, and failing to report child sexual abuse. The list of abuses goes on, all of which serve as evidence that the abortion giant should be defunded.
Georgetown Targets a Mother: When Georgetown law student Brittany Lovely realized she would be giving birth in December, shortly before final exams, she immediately asked permission to take her test early, late, or remotely. But her request was refused. Even though her request was accompanied by a doctor’s note, the registrar rejected it, claiming that it would be “inequitable to other non-birthing students in her class.” This left Lovely with two options: either take the exam soon after childbirth with her newborn or fail and request to withdraw from the class. It took a group of students banding together to organize a petition for Lovely, which quickly went viral, to convince the registrar to accommodate the expectant mother. Now Lovely continues to fight for accommodations for pregnant or parenting students who may come after her.
Students Stand for Life: The younger members of the pro-life generation are getting out into the world and spreading the pro-life message. In October, eleven Christendom College students participated in a pro-life door-knocking campaign in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, organized by the Susan B. Anthony List (SBA). Their goal was to educate people on the abortion issue and encourage them to vote pro-life ahead of the presidential election. Over the course of the trip, the students worked long hours knocking on thousands of doors, engaging in conversations with a wide range of responses, from receptive to argumentative. Despite some negative reactions, the students had important conversations, including a particularly impactful conversation where a woman, previously supportive of abortion rights, changed her stance after a discussion with Christendom College student Laine Clark. These grassroots efforts are incredibly important for the training of the pro-life movement and the protection of the unborn.
Good News
APR Saves Over 6000: Abortion Pill Reversal, a protocol offering women a second chance at their abortion decision, has reached a significant milestone in saving lives, despite opposition from abortion advocates. As of November 20, 2024, official statistics report that over 6,000 lives have been saved through the Abortion Pill Rescue® Network (APRN). With chemical abortion on the rise, increasingly replacing surgical abortion, Abortion Pill Reversal (APR) has become a vital option for women who regret taking the chemical abortion pill and wish to save their unborn child. APR continues to save lives, despite attempted suppression of the reversal protocol by abortion supporters in the abortion lobby, big tech, the medical profession, and elected office.
“You would think those who favor ‘choice’ would be in favor of allowing a young woman to change her mind about keeping her pregnancy,” says Mr. Mosher. “But you would be wrong. Abortion is a one-way street. Once you start down it, the death peddlers do not allow you to change your mind.”
For more information on APR, read our interview with Dr. George Delgado (Founder of the Abortion Pill Reversal program), Abortion Pill Reversal: Yes, it works!
