Breaking News

The Vatican and Contraception: The release of the Pontifical Academy’s latest book has stirred concerns over changing moral teachings on the use of contraceptives. Although Pope Francis has never contradicted Humanae Vitae outright, Voice of the Family notes the many instances of his vague or liberal views on the matter.

“I am not aware of a single robust defense of traditional sexual morality in recent years from the Vatican,” says PRI President Steven Mosher.  “Rather, all the energy seems to be in the direction of compromising with the world’s increasing insanity where human sexuality is concerned.

Pope Francis’ 2015 criticism of a woman who had endured eight cesarean sections in order to give birth to her children was particularly troubling on a personal level since that is my wife’s, Vera’s, story.  Vera is not guilty of ‘tempting God,’ rather she should be praised for ‘Trusting God.’

Neither were we ‘breeding like rabbits,’ as the Pope disdainfully suggested.  Rather we were trying to live our faith, specifically that part of Catholic teaching that says that children are gifts from God.”

PRI in the Media

Discussion on Deprogram: PRI President Steven Mosher joined Michael Parker on “Deprogram” to discuss his latest book, The Politically Incorrect Guide to Pandemics. Two years after the initial explosion of coronavirus, Mosher shares the complete breakdown of China’s global, viral attack.

The Great Fall of China: The CCP once hoped that the 21st century would be “the Chinese Century.” But as the population growth falls, debt rises, and countries around the world begin to distance themselves, the likelihood of that future plummets. Today, in many ways China is economically weaker than it has been in decades and demographically weaker than it has ever been.

China’s Three-Pronged Strategy: The CCP is taking a three-pronged approach to censoring their cadres, along with Chinese journalists and celebrities. This heavy-handed approach reveals the CCP’s fear of the masses of common people, who could be influenced in the “wrong” direction by any of the above-mentioned parties.

Deepening Depopulation

No Limits on Children: The President of the All India Council for Unity of Muslims responded to a query regarding government-mandated population control. Mr. Asaduddin Owaisi reacted strongly against the notion, specifically stating that he would not support a two-child policy and make the same mistakes as China.

“It is a good thing for the world that democratic India is not following China down the road to collective suicide,” says PRI President Steven Mosher. “The birth rate in India is falling naturally, without government coercion, in any case, as it is in virtually every other country around the world.”

Communist China

Demands for a Name: A Chinese grandfather threatened his daughter to change her child’s surname to his, claiming he would die if she did not. The grandfather claimed it was his right, as he has supported her family for many years. Thanks to the one-child policy, many grandparents are facing the end of their family name and as a result, are resorting to desperate measures to prevent it.

“Honoring your father and your mother has a parallel in Chinese culture in the notion of being a ‘filial son’ or a ‘filial daughter,’” says PRI President Steven Mosher.  “Of the three worst ways of being unfilial, according to these teachings, not having a descendant who bears your name is the worst.  It means the end of the family line.  Unfortunately, because of the one-child policy, tens of millions of Chinese are in the same state as this grandfather in the story.”

The Brainwashing of Children: This year, the CCP demanded that all children be educated for the party, starting a campaign called “Xi Jinping’s Thought” that was implemented in schools. Now, the CCP is taking this education a step further by hiring retired military personnel, loyal to the CCP, to provide military and political instruction to all children.

Pro-Life Around the World

Nationwide Abortion: The President of the Central Committee of German Catholics released a statement in favor of the nationwide provision of abortion. Currently, Germany is the most populous country in the EU but continues to have consistently high abortion rates. While the procedure is illegal, it is not punishable in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy.

Pro-Life on the Home Front

Pregnancy Center Pops Up: Pro-lifers in New Mexico are gearing up for a fight as abortionists and their clinics move to the state for its loose abortion regulations. The Southwest Coalition for Life is facing hardship head-on by opening a new pregnancy center directly next to a newly-opened Whole Women’s Health Center. This center is the new location of the Mississippi abortion clinic that was at the heart of the Supreme Court case that ultimately overturned Roe v. Wade.

Heartbeat Heard in Georgia: A Heartbeat Bill in Georgia made it through the federal appeals court, after being challenged by abortion providers. In a victory for the culture of life, the Chief Judge represented his panel in stating that Georgia has an interest in “providing full legal recognition to an unborn child.”

“Heartbeat bills are taking effect across the country,” says PRI President Steven Mosher, “saving thousands of babies.  The Georgia Heartbeat bill is the strongest in the nation.  Not only does it protect babies after their heartbeat can be detected around six weeks, it also references the personhood of the unborn.  Other states should follow.”

Good News

Sacrifices for Mothers: Spurred on by the overturn of Roe v. Wade, the Catholic Diocese of Belleville, Illinois announced its intent to sell the bishop’s manor and donate the proceeds to programs for expectant mothers. This act is hopefully one of many around the nation geared towards assisting mothers and their children.

Quote of the Week

“To defend and promote life, to show reverence and love for it, is a task which God entrusts to every man, calling him as his living image to share in his own lordship over the world.”

~Pope Saint John Paul II, Evangelium Vitae
