Breaking News

Abortion Act Fails Again: This past week Senate Democrats made a desperate move to codify Roe v. Wade. Yet, the so-called “Women’s Health Protection Act” failed for a second time by a vote of 49 to 51. This allows for the Supreme Court to go ahead and overturn Roe, a decision that all pro-lifers are waiting for with bated breath.

In response, PRI President Steven Mosher released the following:

When the Democrats’ bill to overturn all state restrictions on abortion and enshrine abortion up to birth in the law failed to pass, our “Catholic” president said this:

“Once againas fundamental rights are at risk at the Supreme CourtSenate Republicans have blocked passage of the Women’s Health Protection Act, a bill that affirmatively protects access to reproductive health care. This failure to act comes at a time when women’s constitutional rights are under unprecedented attackand it runs counter to the will of the majority of American people.  Republicans in Congressnot one of whom voted for this billhave chosen to stand in the way of Americans’ rights to make the most personal decisions about their own bodies, families and lives.  To protect the right to choose, voters need to elect more pro-choice senators this November, and return a pro-choice majority to the House. If they do, Congress can pass this bill in January, and put it on my desk, so I can sign it into law.”

Joe Biden is clearly desperate to enshrine what is effectively infanticide into federal law before Roe v. Wade is overturned.

What’s more, every member of his political party who serves in the House and the Senate but one (Joe Manchin) agrees with this extreme position.  The phrase “pro-abortion Democrat” is an oxymoron. The one is indistinguishable from the other.

It is a mystery to me why every bishop and priest in the United States is not reminding the pew-sitters that they “cannot be good Catholics and at the same time vote for any pro-abortion politician in any election at any time.”  The only explanation I can think of is that they fear this will be seen as an endorsement of a political party, instead of a statement of fundamental Catholic morality.

But there is no reason it should be seen that way.  No one forced the Democrat Party to transform itself into a party of abortion extremists.  But it has.  They are now one and the same, from the president on down to local city councilmen.  Neither bishops, nor priests, nor laity should allow them to cloak their immorality in the protective coloration of a political affiliation any longer.

PRI in the Media

1984 Comes to Life: PRI President Steven Mosher revealed to Church Militant the true reasons behind locking down Shanghai for weeks on end. Xi Jinping has used lockdown as a show of his complete control over China. The Chinese people are unable to protest his rule while they starve and suffer, patrolled by drones that monitor their every move.

Spying on the Nation: Recently obtained documents revealed that the CDC purchased location data on millions of people to track compliance with COVID-19 measures. Now that this door has been opened, the CDC is further considering the continual monitoring of citizens. PRI President Steven Mosher warns of the Left’s quest for a totalitarian state, which we may be approaching as a result of concessions made for the pandemic.

Deepening Depopulation

Putting Off Procreation: Each generation has postponed having children further and further down the line of life, as the global culture grows more anti-natal. In response to this trend, author Nathanael Blakes writes on the gifts of marriage and family. Though a challenge, these institutions offer immense potential for growth within the individuals open to these gifts.

“If you want to live life to the fullest, get married, stay married, and have lots of children,” says PRI President Steven Mosher. “It will be the most exciting adventure that you can ever imagine. Love doesn’t divide, it multiplies.”

Communist China

Urge the Urgency: Decades of forced organ harvesting in China have finally caught the attention of the European Parliament. The governing body passed a resolution to confront this horrendous practice. The vote was urged on by peaceful Falun Gong protesters, whose people along with other ethnic minoritieshave suffered this torture at the hands of the CCP for years.

Confiscated and Clipped: Border police in Guangzhou have increased control of traveling Chinese citizens. Incoming individuals are questioned and, in many cases, their passports confiscated. Some even report that their passports were clipped, invalidating them for further travel.

Quiet Periods Enforced: Shanghai has entered its sixth week of lockdown. Though no new measures were released, neighborhood committees are now enforcing “quiet periods.” These quarantines-by-another-name last three to seven days, during which no one is allowed to leave and no deliveries can come in.

Science Gone Mad

Alabama Protects Kids: Alabama is the first state to ban transitioning treatments for youth suffering from gender dysphoria. The Vulnerable Child Compassion and Protection Act makes administering puberty-blockers and hormones to so-called transgenders under nineteen a crime.

Dangers Hidden in Trans Medicine: Transgender bureaucrat Rachel Levine tries to convince the public that gender-affirming medical intervention is vital, but he can’t hide the dangerous truth. While Levine calls these treatments for children “well-established,” global medical boards disagree. More countries are banning these treatments for children and adolescents, as serious physical side effects come to light and the alleged benefits are disproven.

Pro-Life Around the World

The Real Reproductive Rights: Around the world, Leftists push for abortion in the name of reproductive rights. But in a world that is in general growing more anti-natal every year, the true reproductive rights are those to have and raise children.

A Devastating Path: England and Wales have adopted the no-fault divorce system, despite this very system destroying marriage and family in every country it touches. Unsurprisingly, divorce rates immediately surged. Over three-thousand couples filed for divorce within a week of the new rules being put in place.

Pro-Life on the Home Front

Rosary for Roe: The USCCB has invited Catholics around the nation to join in prayer for the Supreme Court and other pro-life intentions. On this day, the Feast Day of Our Lady of Fatima, we are all invited to pray a rosary for a greater culture of life in all aspects within the United States.

Abortion Destinations Prep: In response to the Supreme Court leak, California and New York have prioritized pro-abortion state laws. The two states were already abortion destinations, but now have doubled down on abortion availability. As abortion advocates gain ground, pro-lifers increase their efforts in education and compassionate care.

Stricter Telehealth in TN: Republican Governor Bill Lee passed legislation that prohibits the distribution of abortion pills by mail. Anyone caught distributing these deadly drugs through telehealth programs or the mail will face criminal penalties.

Good News

Love Changes Everything: Working with the McGrath Institute, the Sisters of Life released a video series to educate all on the meaning and worth of every person’s life. The series, Into Life: Love Changes Everything, showcases many of the sisters throughout a hundred in-depth interviews. It provides guidance for helping women through the uncertainty of an unplanned pregnancy.

Quote of the Week

“The message of Fatima, which Mary gave to the world through three poor children, consists in an exhortation to conversion, prayer, especially the rosary, and reparation for one’s own sins and for those of all mankind. This message flows from the Gospel, from the words which Christ spoke at the very beginning of his public ministry: ‘Repent, and believe in the Gospel!’”
