PRI in the Media

Chief Spy-Catcher Defects: Dong Jingwei, a senior official of China’s Ministry of State Security, has defected to the United States. According to PRI President Steven Mosher, this man was the “Chinese Communist Party’s chief spy-catcher”. Dong flew from Hong Kong to California under the pretext of visiting his daughter. Once there he contacted the Defense Intelligence Agency to turn himself in. But Dong didn’t just bring himself as sole testimony against the CCP. He brought “terabytes” of information. Based on ongoing reports from Jennifer Van Laar of RedState, Mosher stated that this information ranges from “the true story of the origins of the China Virus, to the names of all the Chinese spies, agents, and collaborators of the CCP in the United States”. Dong also included the complete contents of Hunter Biden’s infamous laptop and details of the Bidens’ business deals in China. Read Here.

Coercion Coming: PRI President Steven Mosher spoke with Ed Martin on the Pro-America Report regarding the CCP’s recent adjustments to family planning policy. The shift to a three-child policy, painted as benevolent and generous of the CCP in their media, came only five years after the institution of a two-child policy. In 2016, the CCP adopted this policy after the issue of impending labor shortages became glaringly obvious. But it made no difference in the falling birth rate. The CCP’s power of propaganda had backfired. Forty years of pushing an anti-natal agenda had poisoned the population against having a second child, if they had children at all. This, combined with the gender imbalance from the preference for sons during the one-child policy, has created a recipe for demographic disaster that a three-child policy will not fix.

Mosher has long theorized that the CCP will take drastic measures to raise the birth rate. Already the CCP is saying, in internal Party documents, contraceptives should be banned. They are also coercing young Party members to have three children, threatening to withhold promotion if they do not. The CCP officials were told to lead by example. For what is on the horizon, Mosher stated, “What happens in the Party, will soon happen in the country at large”. Listen Here.

Demography is Destiny

Delayed Motherhood: It has become clear that American women are postponing children indefinitely and have been for years. The average age of a woman having her first child has continued to rise. But why are American women throughout the nation delaying motherhood? One major contributor was revealed via geographic analysis by Professor Caitlin Myers of Middlebury College. She learned, “The birth rate is falling fastest in places with the greatest job growth—where women have more incentive to wait”. Besides career-driven postponement, there is also the issue of debt. Women are hesitant to take on the costs associated with having a child, especially those that are still paying off student debt. These reasons, coupled with a society that pushes the use of birth control and emphasizes finding fulfillment outside of children, has led to this demographic drop. Read Here.

“What the New York Times does not mention is the increasingly dismal prospects of young American men over the past two decades,” says PRI President Steven Mosher. “Factories went to China by the tens of thousands, taking with them millions of good paying jobs.  Marriage rates plummeted as young men without prospects left the marriage market. Birth rates headed for the exits as well. Single motherhood has never been an attractive option.”

Immigration Non-Solution: Immigration has been heralded as the savior of countries with falling birth rates. Some believe immigration will save the U.S. by spurring population growth and rejuvenating the economy. Experts, including Dr. Camarota of the Center for Immigration Studies in this article, have weighed in and shared that this is not the case. The actual impact of immigration on population growth is slight. Many immigrants move when they are already past middle age. Those that are having children are unfortunately reproducing at rates similar to native-born Americans. As for economic rejuvenation, there is very little proof that higher rates of immigration would make the country wealthier on a per-capita basis. It is a very real possibility that increasing immigration would bring more problems than it would solve, no matter how it is marketed by the mainstream media. Read Here.

UN Misdeeds

Abortions for the Starving: In a recent report, the Human Rights Council, an agency within the U.N., prioritized sexual and reproductive health, over basic needs. Their priorities for countries in need are hormonal treatments, gender-affirming therapies, same-sex relations, and abortion. According to journalist Neydy Casillas, pushing this agenda has taken precedence over “ensuring that those in developing countries have access to quality care and medicines”. The World Bank estimated that approximately 3.4 billion people still struggle to access basic necessities. These include water, sanitation, education, and health care. Read Here.

“Several years ago”, says PRI President Steven Mosher “We did a survey of women in the developing world. We discovered that their primary healthcare needs were not access to abortion, sterilization, and contraception. In fact, those things were not even on the list. What they wanted was access to clean drinking water, primary healthcare for themselves and their children, and treatment for the endemic diseases that they faced, such as malaria, typhus, typhoid, etc. What this means is that the radical abortion promoters at the UN are completely oblivious to, or disdainful of, the real health needs of the people of Africa, Asia, and Latin America. All they want is abortion for all, all the time.”

Communist China

Repackaged History: Xi Jinping has been on a mission to rewrite the history of Communism in China. Two years ago he launched the Chinese Academy of History, an organization formed to oppose negative views of the Communist Party’s past. They aim to rewrite the history books with the CCP portrayed as a savior. One example portrayed The Great Leap Forward as an event to praise Mao for, rather than the truth of the famine and death it caused. Authorities have been regulating the internet, ready to punish individuals for illegal posts that support “historical nihilism”. Everyday Chinese citizens are further conditioned to swallow false history, whether it be at school or on an airplane. Read Here.

“The Chinese Communist Party is always rewriting history to conform to the latest Party line”, says PRI President Steven Mosher. “The latest line is that Mao was a great leader who was not responsible for the deaths of tens of millions of Chinese. The reason they are repackaging Mao is that Xi models himself on Mao in all things. In whitewashing Mao’s brutalities, he is whitewashing his own against Catholics, Christians, Uyghurs and others in China.”

American Survivor: Steven Schaerer, American author and China policy expert, was arrested under false charges by the CCP and imprisoned in China. There he experienced the horrific conditions of Chinese Communist Detention. After almost a month of imprisonment, Schaerer was deported to San Francisco. There he arrived malnourished, sleep-deprived, and sick. He wrote a book on his experiences and attested to the treatment of other groups of people, including “Falun Gong practitioners, Muslims, Uyghurs, Chinese Christions, Tibetan Buddhists, human rights lawyers, and political dissidents”. Read Here.

“Years ago, I was arrested in China under false charges,” says PRI President Mosher. “Like Steven Schaerer, the experience gave me a newfound appreciation for the US constitution and the rights that protect people in the United States. Because in China, people have no rights. They can be detained, tortured, and even executed for their beliefs at the whim of Communist officials. I would strongly advise all Americans not to travel to China at this time, because you may well end up being held hostage in a Chinese prison, as several Canadians and Australians are now being held.”

DNA in Danger: The U.S. Senate recently approved an expansive bill aimed at helping the nation compete with China. Certain security stipulations in the bill revealed the ongoing concern that China is amassing U.S. citizen DNA data. The motivation behind this is not known for certain. Some guess it could be part of bioweapon development or kept as blackmail if the need should ever arise. The National Institutes of Health and the American Society of Human Genetics have pushed back at these new security measures. Neither views the potential threat as substantial enough to warrant extra protections. Read Here.

A Doctor’s Testimony: A doctor of Uyghur traditional medicine that fled to Turkey from Xinjiang in 2010, gave her testimony at the Uyghur Tribunal in London. Compelled by her conscience to come forward, Shemsinur Abdighafur described the years of daily abuses done in the name of family planning policy. According to her, ethical standards only existed in the hospitals as long as it didn’t interfere with CCP policy. Pregnant women were hunted down and their “illegal” pregnancies terminated. Hysterectomy quotas were instated, with doctors required to perform at least two-thousand per year. Shemsinur recalled tragic stories, from her work, her immediate family, and her own life. For her honest testimony to the Tribunal, Shemsinur’s family members were forced to publicly denounce her in a staged CCP press conference held June 9th, 2021. Read Here.

Her witness statement can be found here.

Science Gone Mad

Designer Babies: Scientists and universities have been grappling to attain the patent for methods of editing human embryos for reproductive use. These methods of altering genes and traits of future children known as “heritable genome editing” are prohibited in 70 countries around the world. Despite this and guidelines from institutions around the world that discourage the practice, it is still possible for these patent applications to be successful. According to the Center for Genetics and Society, “in most jurisdictions there is no automatic prohibition on patenting something used for an illegal or anti-social purpose”. The exception to this is the European Patent Office which prohibits patents for “processes that could be used to modify human sperm, eggs or embryos”. Read Here.

Pro-Life Around the World

Biden’s Abortion Budget: Biden has asked Congress to bypass federal restrictions on abortion funding overseas. In his 2022 budget proposal, there are established federal restrictions on abortion funding abroad included. But, according to journalist Lisa Correnti, the President made these null and void by stipulating that funds for “women’s empowerment and gender equality” should be made available “notwithstanding any other provision of law”. The use of this language could allow funding towards the performance and promotion of abortion, as well as coercion of health providers to perform or refer women for abortions. The budget also included a significant increase in funding to the UNFPA without any restrictions on using the funds for abortion or programs in China. Read Here.

Death by Mail: Abortions hit record levels in the U.K. during the COVID-19 pandemic. During 2020, a total of 210,860 abortions were committed in England and Wales. According to journalist Raymond Wolfe, this is “the highest number since the U.K. broadly legalized abortion in 1967”. These numbers are a direct result of British Health Secretary Matt Hancock’s introduction of DIY abortions last March. This process allows for patients to receive abortion pills in the mail after a phone or virtual consultation. The reports of possibly illegal abortions have risen, as well as reports of excruciating complications. Unfortunately, the United States has been following in the United Kingdom’s footsteps. The Biden Administration accelerated abortion by mail, by lifting FDA dispensing rules this past April. Although this was done as part of the pandemic measures, abortion lobbyists are already pushing to make it permanent. Read Here.

“The thought of women at home alone, suffering from excessive bleeding, or confronted with the body of their aborted child in the toilet, should make anyone reconsider at-home abortions,” says PRI President Steven Mosher. “Sending abortion pills to young women is death by mail”.

Pro-Life on the Home Front

Abortion Unlimited: Pro-choice members of Congress have become nervous as the Supreme Court readies to reexamine Roe v. Wade. They have increased their efforts to codify the 1973 ruling by pushing through the Women’s Health Protection Act. This act would make it a right for health care providers to provide abortion care, as well as eliminate all legal protections for unborn babies on the federal and state level. Most limits on government funding for abortion would be invalidated. The President of National Right to Life, Carol Tobis, said succinctly, “The Women’s Health Protection Act is, in effect, a no-limits-on-abortion-until-birth bill”. Read Here.

Massachusetts Madness: Legislators in Massachusetts have been pushing for a bill that would require public universities to provide medication abortion options to students. It would also require referrals for abortion services not available in their health center. If the bill goes through, the Department of Public Health would provide grants of at least $200,000 to each public university for the cost of “abortion readiness”. Read Here.

“Publicly funded universities should not be in the business of promoting or providing abortions to their students”, says PRI President Steven Mosher. “Most Americans find the idea of subsidizing abortion in this way to be abhorrent. Imagine sending your daughter to college only to learn that it is serving as an extension of Planned Parenthood.”

Helping H.R.18: On June 22nd, members of Congress began seeking unanimous consent on the House floor for consideration of H.R.18. This is the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act. It would make the Hyde Amendment permanent and government-wide. This movement will continue until the August recess, giving Pro-Life members only 18 days in total to achieve success.

“The Hyde Amendment–which prevents taxpayer funds from being used to pay for abortion–must be codified into law,” says PRI President, Steven Mosher.  “This is especially necessary now that Joe Biden has abandoned any pretense of being anything other than rabidly pro-abortion.  If you don’t want to begin paying for the killing of unborn children, contact your congressman.”

Good News

A Happy First Birthday: The world’s most premature baby to survive just celebrated his first birthday. Richard Hutchinson was born five months early, weighing less than a pound. The neonatology team at Children’s Minnesota Hospital in Minneapolis gave his parents an estimated 0% chance of survival. Now he is a year old and holds a Guinness World Record. Read Here.

Quote of the Day

“Christ did not promise an easy life. Those who desire comforts have dialled the wrong number. Rather, he shows us the way to great things, the good, towards an authentic human life.”
