PRI in the Media

World Needs Answers: The “grounds to suspect” that COVID-19 originated in a lab have grown stronger. In response, the New York Post recalled the efforts to silence this theory introduced by PRI President Steven Mosher in February 2020. Read Here

Chinese Construction Underway: Steven Mosher appeared on Tucker Carlson Tonight with guest host Mark Steyn to discuss reports that China is building more facilities similar to the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Read Transcript Here

Communist China

West Counters China: The United States and its allies have turned back to Industrial Policy to challenge China’s domination of vital industries. In order to combat the country’s “Made in China 2025” endeavour, America must take a gamble with semiconductor subsidies and federal intervention.  Read Here

“Responsible governments always protect their country’s manufacturing base as vital to national security,” says PRI President, Steven Mosher.  “Not to mention that good-paying manufacturing jobs contribute to family formation and stability.  But for the past quarter century Wall Street and Washington together have sold out American workers in return for profits and campaign contributions from the Chinese Communist Party. This has to stop.”

Interest in Afghanistan: US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken stated that China’s potential involvement with Afghanistan could be a positive move. This is conditional upon Chinese involvement genuinely reflecting their official goal of non-interference outside of the “restoration of peace in the country.” Read Here

“For the current Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, to say that China’s interest in Afghanistan could be ‘positive’ reveals a breathtaking naiveté about the CCP’s expansionist goals,” says PRI President Mosher.  “The CCP breeds tyranny, corruption and terror wherever it goes.”

UN Misdeeds

New Partnership: The UNFPA has joined forces with SEMA Reproductive Health to accelerate the spread of contraceptives worldwide. The initiative was created on the sidelines of the Generation Equality Forum. Read Here

Science Gone Mad

Sperm Settlement: A $10,000,000 settlement has been offered to the victims of a Canadian fertility doctor who used his own sperm to impregnate patients. According to BBC news, “it is thought to be the first legal settlement of its kind.” Read Here

Pro-Life Around the World

Attacking Pro-Life Laws: The World Health Organization has announced that an update to the “technical and policy guidance on ‘safe abortion’” is under consideration. The Center for Family and Human Rights shared that this may “increase pressure on countries to remove legal protections from unborn children” as well as threaten conscientious objection to abortion. Read Here

“The World Health Organization cares nothing about the health of the unborn,” says PRI President, Steven Mosher.  “Only about eliminating as many unborn children as possible.  So-called ‘safe abortion’ is just a euphemism for abortion uber alles–abortion everywhere and always, without restrictions such as informed consent, waiting periods, or ultrasounds, throughout all nine months of pregnancy.”

Death in the Netherlands: A group known as “Last Wish Cooperative” has been peddling suicide drugs to further their mission of euthanasia without the “intervention” of doctors. Although euthanasia laws are flexible in the Netherlands, this group is violating the law and putting vulnerable individuals at risk. Read Here

Pro-Life on the Home Front

USCCB Responds: The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops issued a response to the exclusion of the Helms Amendment in H.R. 4373. Cardinal Dolan, Archbishop Naumann, and Bishop Malloy expressed their disappointment that countries that oppose abortion may have to embrace it to receive help for their people saying, “…nothing can justify subsidizing the taking of innocent human life.” Read Here

Push to Overturn: Eleven GOP governors have petitioned SCOTUS to overturn the 1973 landmark case of Roe v. Wade. While this move would not outlaw abortion, it would place the power to regulate abortion in each state’s hands. Read Here

“Pro-lifers have been waiting 50 years for a pro-life Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade, which was a poorly reasoned act of raw judicial tyranny,” says PRI President Steven Mosher.  “Pray that the pro-life majority on the Supreme Court stays true to their principles.  The pressure from abortion advocates will be enormous.”

European Law Comparison: A recent comparison showed that most European abortion laws limit the practice earlier than the Mississippi law under scrutiny in the upcoming Supreme Court case. Many countries, including Denmark, France, and Norway, limit abortions to twelve weeks. Read Here

Good News

Baby Boom: A Texas hospital had two birth surges in the past month, breaking the record twice. This was in severe contrast to the rest of the country experiencing a baby bust as a result of the current pandemic. Read Here

Quote of the Week

Feast of the Transfiguration

“Like the disciples, we too must descend from Tabor into daily life where human events challenge our faith. On the mountain we saw; on the paths of life we are asked tirelessly to proclaim the Gospel which illuminates the steps of believers.”

~ Saint Pope John Paul II, source
