Ignorant no longer

Greetings,

I just received your complimentary copy of the Population Research Institute Review Wow! I must confess that I was fairly ignorant of the extent of the US government involvement in the population control of other nations. While I was glad to get the information and be awakened, I was also greatly saddened and even angered at the injustice of it all towards innocent, unsuspecting people. I couldn’t help but wonder what I would do if placed in these people’s positions! As the mother of three young daughters I wonder for their future and would like to help in some way. I am going to subscribe to the PRI Review, but I want to do more. I haven’t any money to donate at this time, but l was wondering if addresses would be a means of helping spread the message of wrong being perpetrated against the world. I know many people through correspondence and am going to enclose their addresses so that you can send them a sample of the Review . We all need to be awakened out of our slumber and take a stand for right, truth, and justice! Thank you for the work that you are doing…

More Norplant woes

How bad is Norplant’? We get very scarce information over here and I seem to know more about it than the doctors. Every time I’ve seen my doctor over the past 3 years I’ve complained about Norplant. I’ve requested the removal and my doctor is on holiday but she said she wanted to speak to me about it (no doubt to talk me out of it). I only know 2 other people with the implant and both are very unhappy with it. One of them has put on 3 stone (42 lbs.). I was 8 stone, 3lbs. (115 lbs.) a year after having my child and I have put on 32 lbs. since having the implants in, and seeing as I’m only 5 foot 2. It is a very noticeable weight gain!

I have extreme mood swings and my doctor ended up giving me beta-blockers. In the first year I bled 9 out of 13 weeks. My doctor just says, “It’ll settle down”, but my periods usually last for 2 weeks, stop for a week then start again for 4-Y days, sometimes they never arrive at all, It’s annoying when I’m not on a period and then I go swimming only to find I’ve come on again. I’m 24 and I’ve got acne (not too severe) which my doctor gave me some stuff to put on it and I erupted in hundreds of spots. (I wasn’t very happy. as l was on holiday). I’ve started sweating concentrated sweat since the implants were put in and it stains my clothes and makes me feel very self-conscious (I stink even when I’m straight out of the shower). I never had a problem like this before using the implants. I developed a cyst in my lower regions and I’ve noticed an increase in the frequency and intensity of migraines, which sometimes take days to go away. I noticed in hot weather my Norplant site aches and it’s normally quite itchy. I nearly always have an insect (I assume) bite mark on the site, so the bugs must enjoy them!

My doctor just keeps prescribing the pill to settle the periods down so what is the point of having them in? Plus I’m not very happy taking double dosages of hormones. For some time I have also been bleeding after intercourse. which is not only embarrassing but is also a symptom of cervical cancer. (I only found this out a couple of days ago and I’m booked for a test tomorrow).

Although I am sure the person in the photo went through much pain with her Norplant removal, I wish mine was that small. I will now live with a scar that runs from my navel to my bikini line and then across. I guess that it is so I will always be reminded of what a poor medical system we have. I am quite certain that if men were maimed we have been, this contraceptive device would not be on the market. I was hospitalized for a week, with all the symptoms of an ectopic pregnancy, including pain so bad that I cannot even describe it.

My doctors were convinced that Norplant was so fool proof that they wouldn’t even consider that I was having an ectopic pregnancy, even though it says it is a possible side effect. Six days later they decided to explore and look at what they had considered to be an infection. Well the infection turned out to be a massive blood clot caused by my tube bursting on the other side. The tube had burst due to an ECTOPIC PREGNANCY. Gee, and I didn’t even have to go to medical school to figure out my ailment. My body is still spinning from this episode with Norplant. I hope someday it will return to normal. I cannot obtain legal council for this matter. because according to them my body was not traumatized enough, But I would like to inform anyone and everyone that this device has major problems and they should consider all of them before inserting this foreign object into their bodies.

Sincerely, V B.

Dear PRI

Thanks for the recent copy of the PRI Review. I read every little piece of it! And would certainly like to subscribe.

Please send me materials for doing so. I can tell already that this publication’s research will be very useful in the Secretariat’s work.

Sincerely, Helen Alvare
