They need to stop killing the unborn babies like that or any other way. Why would anyone want to kill the most precious gift our Heavenly Father gave to the human race?

I love your reports [PRI Weekly Briefings]. Do you have a simple graph to show the comparison of population trends in the developed world compared to Latin America? I need to make a presentation to someone in government here in Venezuela to show why abortion and sterilization should not be encouraged here. The demographic argument is needed at this time.
I would be grateful,

Mr. Mosher,
[Re: Europe’s Demographic Winter]
As between a secularized Western Europe and a Moslem Western Europe, is it not worth discussing whether we should do what little we can to affect the outcome by encouraging and supporting the latter rather than the former? If any of our friends on the pro-life side of the culture wars have written on this question, I would be happy to be informed of it. It seems plausible to think that the love and care of babies will be furthered more by Islam than by secularist Europe.

Steve,
You guys are the best source of big picture information on the multiple human life issues and their interplay.
I keep putting out this little message on immigration everywhere I go that because we are missing a generation of workers (31 million to 45 million depending on what figures one uses) we don’t have a lot of choice about accepting 14 million new, energetic citizens from south of the border. At another time in our history that might be an excessive number, but right now, they represent the difference between the collapse of our farming and service economies and their thriving. And as our aging population (the light bulb demographic) begins to burgeon, we will be increasingly reliant on them for the care of our elderly.
The conservatives shy from this perspective because they are not for immigration and the liberals because they are not pro-life, so that makes it a peculiarly Catholic issue, and ours to tout so that people can be prepared for the care of that massive elderly population that is coming. And speaking as a member of the aging generation, it takes on special personal significance.

Dear Steven,
I wanted to let you know that I heard you speak at Loyola College in Baltimore about 10 years or so ago. We had 1 or 2 children at the time. After your talk I came home and told my husband what you had said about the horrors occurring in China especially that adopting a little girl from China was literally saving a life. After that we always thought about adopting a little girl someday.
Well, we went on to have 6 beautiful children that I homeschool. Our days are quite busy and we had gradually assumed that weren’t going to be able to adopt but one morning my husband asked me what I thought about adopting a little girl from China. There were a couple of obstacles that I told God if He wanted us to do this, then He’d have to remove them. And, low and behold, He did. That began the process and we are now adopting a 2 1/2-year-old from Nanchong. I just received my travel approval from the CCAA and will be leaving within l or 2 weeks.
Thanks for bringing to light the situation in China. We are so happy that our little girl (Grace) will be joining our family. The kids are thrilled and eager to meet her. I pray that soon China will change its policies and its government. In the meantime, I hope that all of the little ones will find the loving homes that they are entitled to. Thanks to you for leading us down this wonderful path .…
Sincerely,

Dear Steve,
Thanks for keeping me up to date on your work.
I must say I have a considerably heightened appreciation for PRI after reading several articles on the demographic catastrophe facing Europe.
Some years ago I read somewhere, but now cannot remember where, about the amazingly long lead-time for change in population trends. It had to do with how long it takes for an increase in women of childbearing age. Can you recommend any sources on this?

Dear Steve,
Many thanks for the latest PRI Weekly Briefing.
The Gates-Buffett affair is certainly no laughing matter, but it is said that “a sense of humour has saved many a person from insanity” and this has prompted me to compose a few lines .…

Dear Steve,
Many thanks for sending me the Population Research Institute Review which greatly updates me on many population issues. It was good to know that the Philippines is the target of the UNFPA funding by 2009, which is almost around the corner. It is good to be aware of the facts and also to be able to tell our Filipino people about the situation.
