A Message from the President

You helped to win a victory for Life in Idaho! Our pro-life ads and reels reached almost 300,000 voters in the state in the 10 days leading up to the November 3rd election.

We urged them to reject the attempt to legalize abortion through all nine months of pregnancy.

And they did!

The deceptively named “Reproductive Freedom and Privacy Initiative,” which would have rolled back the state’s strong protections for innocent preborn babies, was soundly defeated.

Deepening Depopulation

Greece’s Birth Rate Collapses: Greece recorded just 65,000 births in 2026, compared to an annual average of 150,000 between 1951 and 1980. A new demographic study warns that births this decade could fall 25% below the previous decade. With women born in 1985 averaging fewer than 1.5 children, Greece faces a deepening population crisis threatening its future workforce and pension networks.

“The last two times the Greek birthrate fell this low Greece was invaded by Rome (146 BC), and Constantinople fell to the Turks (1453 AD),” says Mr. Mosher.  “If the Greeks want to keep their country they must populate it.”

Japan’s Population Crisis: Japan recorded 320,458 births among Japanese nationals in the first half of 2026, a 0.4% increase and the first rise in 11 years. However, deaths reached 778,982, exceeding total births by 436,914. Japan’s fertility rate remains at a record low of 1.14 children per woman, while nearly 29.4% of its population is now over 65.

India Confronts Its Fertility Crisis: India’s Supreme Court declared that laws penalizing families for having more than two children have “lost their relevance.” With India’s fertility rate falling from 3.02 to 1.9, justices warned that the fear of overpopulation has crumbled. The Court called for encouraging healthy population growth and challenged laws that punish mothers for having larger families.

“In a world of falling birthrates, programs intended to force down the birthrate never made any sense,” says Mr. Mosher. “India’s birthrate has now been below replacement for a decade.  Glad that the authorities are finally waking up to this fact.”

Communist China

China Calls for More Births: With China’s population declining for four consecutive years, the State Council is calling for expanded support for marriage, childbirth, and child-rearing to stabilize births. Officials are urging improvements to housing, taxation, education, and social security to create a “fertility-friendly society.” The push comes amid growing fears that China’s shrinking and aging population will threaten economic growth and social welfare systems.

UN Misdeeds

Vatican Condemns UN’s Abortion Agenda: The Holy See strongly criticized a UN committee for its continued efforts to pressure countries into decriminalizing abortion and expanding access to so-called “abortion care.” A Vatican delegate condemned the term as “profoundly misleading,” warning that it disguises the deliberate destruction of innocent human life as “health care.” Egypt also challenged the committee, arguing that decriminalizing abortion is not an obligation under the UN convention.

Science Gone Mad

Three-Parent IVF is Concerning: Scientists and ethicists are raising serious concerns about “three-parent IVF,” an experimental procedure that creates embryos using genetic material from three people. Intended to prevent inherited mitochondrial diseases, the technique has produced troubling results. Early experiments revealed that many human embryos failed to survive the process, while newer studies found maternal mitochondria resurfacing at levels as high as 72%. Despite these alarming findings, researchers continue to pursue the technology.

Pro-Life Around the World

Cuba’s Abortions Nearly Equal Births: Cuba recorded a staggering 64,850 abortions in 2025, compared to just 68,064 live births, nearly 95 abortions for every 100 babies born. This marks the highest abortion-to-birth ratio in four decades. Meanwhile, deaths reached 136,214, nearly double the number of births, as Cuba’s population fell by more than 313,000. The figures expose a devastating loss of unborn life amid Cuba’s worsening demographic crisis.

South Korea’s Abortion Pill Plan: South Korea’s government plans to approve abortion pills for use during the first nine weeks of pregnancy without new legislation. However, Seoul National University professor Park Sung-min argues that administrative approval violates constitutional principles and undermines protections for unborn children. He insists that only the National Assembly can establish the legal framework governing abortion and called on lawmakers to address the issue.

Euthanasia Deaths Surge Across Australia: The Australian Capital Territory recorded 57 assisted deaths in just eight months, accounting for an estimated 3.5% of all deaths. Its euthanasia law has no fixed life-expectancy requirement or minimum waiting period, and officials are considering further expansion. Meanwhile, Queensland recorded 1,082 assisted deaths in 2025–26, while euthanasia deaths in Western Australia have risen 243% over four years.

Pro-Life on the Home Front

Abortion Enshrined in Three States: Tuesday’s elections delivered mostly devastating results for the pro-life movement. Idaho voters rejected Proposition 1 by 56% to 44%, preserving protections for unborn children. However, Nevada voters approved Question 6 by 63% to 37%, while Virginia approved Question 1 by 62% to 38%, enshrining abortion in their constitutions. Missouri voters also rejected an effort to restore pro-life protections.

Former West Point Cadet Forces Abortion: A former West Point cadet pleaded guilty to felony assault after drugging his pregnant girlfriend with sedatives and then forcing abortion pills into her body, killing her unborn child. According to Pregnancy Help News, at least 23 other cases of abortion pill poisonings have been documented, 15 within the past four years. Pro-life advocates warn that increasingly unrestricted access to abortion pills enables these horrific crimes.

Good News

Bishops Honor Pregnancy Centers: The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops is honoring pregnancy resource centers during Pregnancy Help Appreciation Week. Approximately 2,750 pro-life pregnancy centers operate nationwide, providing free medical care, ultrasounds, baby supplies, and other essential resources to mothers and families in need. In 2024 alone, these centers provided over $452 million in services and material support, helping women choose life and supporting families both during and after birth.
