Steven Mosher to Testify Against Sex-Selective Abortion before Kansas State Senate Health Committee

Front Royal, VA, 2/8/13 — On Monday, February 11th, Steven Mosher will testify before the Health Committee of the Kansas State Senate in support of SB-141, which bans Sex-Selective Abortion. Mosher, who is the President of the Population Research Institute, is an internationally recognized authority on demographics and population issues.

Mosher first encountered Sex-Selective Abortion in China, where it has reached epidemic proportions as a result of pressures generated by the one-child policy. Up to 100 million girls are missing from the populations of China, India, Korea and Vietnam because of this practice. Mosher will present recent statistical and anecdotal evidence that this practice has reached America’s shores.

Mosher will be joined in testifying by other conferees who will speak of the reality of Sex-Selective Abortion in America. There is evidence that those in the abortion industry, including Planned Parenthood, are facilitating this practice, which discriminates against girls. Indeed, Sex-Selective Abortion is the worst form of discrimination imaginable, since it is a discrimination that kills.

The hearing will be held in Room 118-N, beginning at 1:30 PM.  Prior to the hearing, PRI and Kansans for Life will hold a joint press conference in Room 212B-North.

The hearing will be open to the public. For more information please visit the Kansans for Life website here: www.kfl.org.
