PRI in the Media

Video Series on the Pandemic Gets Rave Reviews: The launch of our first-ever master class this past year was a huge success. Here are a few examples of the positive feedback we’ve received:

“All the facts”

“Very informative!”

“Excellent information!!”

“This was very interesting and has proven that many were correct about the Covid Pandemic. China was responsible and it was the first of a planned Pandemic. The way it was handled was also wrong.”

Babies not to Blame: For decades China used the population as the scapegoat for its issues. But it was obvious to the rest of the world that China’s problem was (and is) communism, not the number of babies being born. This Wall Street Journal writer points out that PRI President Steven Mosher was one in a “handful of lonely voices” trying to tell this to the world.

COVID Controversy

COVID Endangers Mothers: BMJ Global Health released a meta-analysis of COVID-19’s effect on pregnancy last week.  The risks to the mother and baby rise significantly for mothers infected while pregnant. These risks include blood clots, preeclampsia, death during birth, and more.

Deepening Depopulation

Help Catholics Marry: Last week, we shared the reasons why young Catholics are not marrying. This week we share part two of Rachel Hoover’s essay, where she details how to solve this problem and boost Catholic marriages!

Communist China

India Overtakes China: In 2022, China saw its first decrease in population since the starvation during the Great Leap Forward. According to reports this month, this depopulation has allowed India to surge ahead and become the “most populous nation.” Though expected, this trade of places came ahead of the predicted schedule.

The Cost to China: The depopulation of China, mentioned above, is a direct result of the one-child policy. While India is currently in a better position than its Northern neighbor, its population growth is gradually slowing as well. This leaves the future uncertain for both Asian countries. This article begs the question, “As China’s population starts to decline, and India’s looks set to follow, the question for the whole of humanity is: who, in the long run, is going to be keeping the lights on?”

UN Misdeeds

Belated Warnings: This month, the United Nations released the World Social Report of 2023, “Leaving No One Behind in an Aging World.” After decades of overpopulation fear tactics, the organization is now warning of “inevitable and irreversible” infertility and aging.

Science Gone Mad

Pulling Back from MAiD: People in Canada are finally seeing the MAiD program for what it truly is: a human rights disaster. A new documentary, produced by The Fifth Estate, delves into this destructive policy. As one Toronto psychiatrist puts it:

“Making death too ready a solution disadvantages the most vulnerable people, and actually lets society off the hook. I don’t think death should be society’s solution for its own failures.”

Pro-Life Around the World

Life Under Attack: Around the world, the pro-life movement is under attack. From Ecuador, which erased the right to conscientious objection, to Spain, where 1-in-5 pregnancies end in abortion. The world is not only ignoring its slow depopulation but continuously helping it along.

Pro-Life on the Home Front

A Message to the Marchers: This year Pope Francis sent a message of blessings to the March for Life. Delivered through Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the message encouraged those in attendance to persevere in their pro-life efforts.

Harris Omits Rights: On the 50th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the first year where it no longer stood as the law of the land, Kamala Harris chose to speak on abortion access. Sending a clear message, Harris chose to misquote the Declaration of Independence.  Of the three rights listed in the famous document, Harris omitted the first and most important: the right to life.

“The Declaration of Independence is one of the most brilliant documents ever struck off the mind of Man,” says PRI President Steven Mosher. “To have this second-rate politician butcher it in public to score cheap political points is beneath contempt.  The Founders were God-fearing men who wanted to make clear that humanity had a natural right to Life, to Liberty and to the Pursuit of Happiness, by which they meant doing God’s will in their lives.  By rejecting both the Author of Life and Life itself, Harris has placed herself in the opposite camp.”

A Dangerous Announcement: New York City is the first place in the United States to offer free abortion pills at public clinics. In his announcement of the new program, Mayor Eric Adams claimed this will help solve “inequities in women’s health.” In reality, this will spell disaster for many women taking these dangerous medications alone in their apartments.

Christianizing Abortion: Democrats are defending abortion in a new way, by attempting to “Christianize” the heinous act. This was a major tactic during and after the passing of the Born Alive act. Nancy Pelosi illustrated this after the passing of the act when she described abortion as a decision “guided by faith.”

“Claiming that God, the author of Life and the Creator of souls, is on the side of the abortion-minded verges on blasphemy,” says PRI President Steven Mosher.  “The political calculation made by New York Governor Hochul and others is that freely distorting Christian teaching helps them to win over nominal Christians to the culture of death.  Pro-lifers have to make sure this doesn’t happen.”

Leaker Still Unknown: It’s been eight months since the Roe v. Wade draft opinion leaked and the culprit is still unknown. Despite completing over a hundred formal interviews, the Supreme Court’s investigation continues.

“The most likely reason that we have not yet been told who leaked the draft of the Dobbs opinion is because it was one of the progressive Supreme Court justices,” says PRI President Steven Mosher. “The argument for withholding the identity of ‘she-who-shall-not-be-named’a decision that would have to be made by the Chief Justice John Robertswould be to protect the integrity of the institution.”

Good News

Charity for Preemies: A mother in the U.K. started a charity for parents of premature babies after having a preemie herself last year. The charity, Tiny but Mighty, provides support through care packages for the families.

Quote of the Week

“The building of a truly just society rests upon respect for the sacred dignity of every person and the welcome given to each one as a brother or sister.”

~ Cardinal Pietro Parolin, source
