A Message from PRI President Steven Mosher
Let me tell you what ticks me off. Not just me but also President Donald Trump, who drew attention to it in his magnificent inaugural address.
The President pointed out that hurricane survivors in North Carolina are still shivering in the cold and have been left in the lurch by the federal government.
He also highlighted the tragic fires in the Los Angeles area that wiped out entire neighborhoods, leaving the residents homeless. Victims of the fire, like the hurricane victims, have received little or no help from the government.
Yet the federal government has tons of money to send overseas in “foreign aid.”
Believe it or not, the disgraced Biden even gave “foreign aid” to some of the wealthiest countries in the world, such as Switzerland, Norway, and Singapore. What a ridiculous waste!
But the most sickening waste of your tax dollars and mine is the river of “foreign aid” money that flows into Latin America and elsewhere to promote and pay for abortions.
Now that President Trump is back in office, things are happening VERY FAST in Washington, D.C. I even got late-breaking news as I was writing this URGENT letter:
The President has signed a boatload of urgently needed executive orders. One of these executive orders has CRUCIAL relevance to PRI’s role in helping the Trump Administration eliminate “foreign aid” abuses.
You see, on Monday, January 20th, 2025, the re-inaugurated President ordered a 90-day pause in “foreign development assistance” (foreign aid) pending assessments of efficiencies and consistency with U.S. foreign policy.
I can’t overemphasize the monumental impact of this executive order and PRI’s unprecedented opportunity to STOP all of the abortion promotion in Latin America!
You can be sure that the leading baby killer in South America, abortionist/gynecologist Miguel Gutiérrez, will squeal like a stuck pig when the funding for his precious “safe abortion” network is cut off cold turkey.
2025 is the year that we kick the U.S.-funded abortion movement in Latin America to the curb. We cannot, must not, and will not flub this golden opportunity.
But to accomplish that, President Trump’s foreign policy team needs reliable intel from PRI about what’s REALLY going on with “foreign aid” to Latin America.
The clock is ticking. We only have a 90-day window of opportunity to gather the latest intel from our team of investigators and volunteers in Latin America. We’ll organize that intel into concise reports to give to the President’s key advisors. By the time you read this, we’ll have even less than 90 days.
Consider this. The pro-abortion zealots are relentless and slippery. That’s why PRI’s investigative team can and will expose the tricky games the abortionists play to keep the taxpayer funds flowing.
Baby killers in Latin America play word games like Bill Clinton to keep the dirty “foreign aid” flowing
You probably remember how the disgraced president Bill Clinton played word games when he lied under oath, like when he said, “It depends on what your definition of ‘is’ is.”
South American abortionist Gutiérrez and his “safe abortion” network play similar word games to thumb their noses at pro-life laws and restrictions while killing babies.
For example, they played “fast and loose” with the definition of “therapeutic abortion” to kill the baby of an 11-year-old girl named Mila, their poster child for abortion propaganda.
Abortionist Gutiérrez planned to use her case as a precedent for getting around pro-life laws. His wicked plan would’ve succeeded except for the decisive, hard-hitting action by Carlos Polo, the director of PRI’s Latin American office.
At a crucial public hearing, Carlos debated, exposed, and defeated the miserable abortionist Gutiérrez, leaving him speechless. Carlos also denounced Gutiérrez’s “safe abortion” network for illegally expanding the definition of “therapeutic abortion” as an excuse to kill more babies.
This hearing led to a medical audit of all “therapeutic abortions.” As a result, baby killer Gutiérrez’s illegal abortion scheme came to a screeching halt (for now), thanks to your donations!
You’ve seen PRI win battles against the enemies of life again and again. But now we’re in a position to deliver a knock-out blow. When “foreign aid” resumes, the abortionists MUST be cut off.
We’ll have the best pro-life Mexico City Policy in place ever, as well as a ban on promoting destructive “gender bending” programs that corrupt and confuse innocent children.
That’s because we have the best pro-life network in the region, spearheaded by our man in Latin America, Carlos Polo. Carlos has won victory after victory over the years.
Carlos exposed the abortionists’ dirty, wicked lie!
Here’s another example. Just a few weeks ago, Carlos helped defeat an effort at the Inter-American Court for Human Rights to legalize abortion throughout Latin America. Abortion activists ran a campaign claiming that a young woman in El Salvador, Beatriz, had died because she was denied an abortion.
That was a dirty, wicked lie. She actually died in a motorcycle accident! The lies of the baby killers know no bounds!
To deliver this knock-out blow against these liars, we need your help! Identifying funding sources for questionable programs is hard. Deep State know how to cover their tracks.
To find the Deep State mischief, you have to work your way through the maze of USAID contracts, grantees, sub-grantees, and sub-sub-grantees here in the U.S. You have to ransack the internet for clues. Most of all, you have to have boots on the ground in country after country to gather evidence of their abortion-promoting, life-ending work.
This means we’ll have to recruit more volunteers and, in some cases, hire investigators, to make a watertight case to cut funding.
We operate on a shoestring budget, and all of this costs money. But for every dollar we spend, I’m certain we can cut $1,000, perhaps even $10,000, from the budgets of the pro-death/anti-family movement. The “return on investment” will be huge.
Not only will many lives be saved, but we as a country will finally be out of the dirty business of abortion once and for all.
This opportunity has been a long time coming. Let’s make the most of it! Please help us end it—now!
Right now, I need your help to raise an extra $73,000 to deliver the knockout punch to “foreign aid” abortion funding and keep our other pro-life projects running. Could you consider sending a sacrificial Lenten gift to PRI?
Your prayers and support are essential to deliver a knockout blow to abortion funding
Often, I’m asked, “How much is an amount that will really make a difference?” The fact is, this and all of PRI’s other projects are one hundred percent dependent on tax-deductible gifts in these amounts …
$50 $75 $100 $150
$200 $250 $500
So, while a gift of $50 or $100 or $250 might not seem like much in itself, support in those amounts makes a very big difference! Please don’t make the mistake of thinking that “My gift is too small to matter” because there is no such thing as a gift that’s too small to matter — especially when it will help stop the scandal of using “foreign aid” to fund abortion.
If your circumstances allow a larger tax-deductible Lenten gift — perhaps $1,000, $2,000 or even $5,000 or more — that would be a blessing indeed. Just please remember that we depend on support in all amounts!
And with your permission, we’d like to thank you with your choice of these two important spiritual gifts, which are ideal to give a new dimension to your Lenten devotions …
How to avoid Hell: Making a good confession utterly defeats Satan!
As you know, Scott Hahn is the most famous professor of theology at Franciscan University of Steubenville. But another theology professor there, John Bergsma, is also enormously popular with the students, who fill his lecture hall to overflowing.
Scott Hahn is so impressed with Bergsma’s powerful and concise lectures that he has been known to stand outside in the hallway to listen to them!
Here’s why I feel so strongly that you should have John Bergsma’s new book in your hands this Lent. This book, Jesus and the Jubilee, contains perhaps the best chapter on the astounding POWER of the sacrament of confession that I’ve ever read!
It’s common for Catholics to feel fearful, reluctant, or awkward about confession and to avoid it instead of receiving it as often as we should. Bergsma’s personal story, his experience as a former Protestant minister confronting demonic manifestations, and his explanation for why a Catholic never needs to fear the confessional will surprise you. I guarantee it.
When Bergsma was a Protestant minister, he served an area with a high abortion rate and pervasive drug use. These grave sins resulted in poltergeists (physical disturbances, such as loud noises and objects being moved or destroyed — or unseen pinching, biting, hitting, and tripping). He was baffled. He had no training in seminary to deal with such palpable, demonic, scary evil.
I don’t want to spoil the story, which will flabbergast you. Bergsma tells it in a much better way than I could summarize. When you read his story, you’ll understand why he’s such a colossal fan of the sacrament of confession.
Most people go to Heaven, right? Wrong. It’s impossible to avoid the sobering words of Jesus Christ in the greatest sermon ever preached: “The narrow road leads to life, and few find it.” Making a good confession this Lent will keep us on that narrow road.
May we send you a copy of Bergsma’s powerful new book Jesus and the Jubilee? It is PRI’s way of saying “Thank you so very much!” for your much-needed renewed Lenten gift of $50 or more. Your gift will help PRI save more babies!
Why you should let this former atheist accompany your Lenten journey
Did you know that St. John Henry Newman, the Catholic giant of the 19th century, declared himself to be an atheist in his youth? He soon pivoted back to Christianity and eventually became a highly esteemed Anglican priest and a powerful preacher and writer.
But he gave up fame and prestige when he shocked England by converting to the Catholic Church. Friends turned their backs on him. But God rewarded his faithfulness. His meditations have enriched the lives of countless Catholics.
For example, you may be familiar with St. Newman’s great meditation on life’s purpose:
“God knows me and calls me by my name. God has created me to do Him some definite service;
He has committed some work to me which He has not committed to another.
I have my mission—I never may know it in this life, but I shall be told it in the next.
Somehow I am necessary for His purposes…I have a part in this great work;
I am a link in a chain, a bond of connection between persons.
He has not created me for naught. I shall do good, I shall do His work…”
This Lent you’re probably going to pray the Stations of the Cross, perhaps weekly. That’s why I’m eager to send you St. Newman’s meditations and prayer guide for the Stations of the Cross and other meditations on Lent. These meditations are the most powerful, vivid, and impactful meditations I’ve read in a long time.
His Lenten meditations on the Stations of the Cross are a key part of the new book published by Sophia Press, Newman on Lent, which will take you deep into the unspeakable sufferings of Christ and his sorrows over sin.
Let me invite you this Lent to put your hand in the hand of St. Newman and let him guide you through your most meaningful Lenten journey in many years.
With sincere thanks for your renewed support of $60 or more, the newly published book Newman on Lent can be in your hands VERY soon. Shall we send your copy today?
You’ll spiritually benefit from both gifts, so may we send you both? Jesus and the Jubilee is a one-of-a-kind Lenten companion that should be in every Catholic home. And there’s hardly a better guide to Lent than Newman on Lent.
So why not let PRI send you BOTH gifts, with great thanks for your ongoing support of $100 or more?
Please pray that we succeed in cutting off the devious pro-death advocates
Can you imagine any greater waste of your tax dollars and mine than to send them overseas to help kill babies? The slippery characters who use devious ways to fund the shedding of innocent blood need to be stopped. Please pray and sacrifice to help us accomplish this goal!
Will you help with your prayers and your financial support?
Yours in defense of Church teaching against abortion,
Steven W. Mosher, President
Population Research Institute
P. S. It bears repeating that the clock is ticking on the 90-day window to give our friends on President Trump’s foreign policy team all the details they need to cut off “foreign aid” for abortion. So, is it possible for you to send your maximum support this week or next at the latest?
