PRI in the Media

A Powerful Procession: This year, PRI President Steven Mosher was the keynote speaker for the Day of the Unborn Child in Sydney, Australia. His powerful message was heard by the thousands of attendees, who came to be a witness to life with their procession through the streets.

Christianity in China: Last week, we shared the news that PRI President Steven Mosher presented in Hobart, Australia, on “Christianity in China Today.” Now you can watch the entire presentation yourself, as provided by the sponsors of the event at the Christopher Dawson Center for Cultural Studies.

Reins on Religion Tighten: The CCP is now trying to root out religion in families by starting with the children. Kindergarteners in Wenzhou were sent home with pledge forms for their parents to sign that declare the family not to hold religious beliefs.

Deepening Depopulation

War on Two Fronts: The war between Russia and Ukraine continues and it is demographically debilitating. Both countries have struggled with below-replacement fertility for decades. As a result of the ongoing conflict, war casualties and emigration will have long-lasting effects on both.

Communist China

Punishment for Organ Harvesting: On March 27th, the House overwhelmingly passed the Stop Forced Organ Harvesting Act of 2023. The bill aims to sanction anyone involved in the horrific practice and require annual government reporting on such activities.

“In 2018, I met with the head of the Pontifical Academy of Social Science, Bishop Marcelo Sanchez Coronado, for four hours to review the human rights situation in China,” recalls PRI President Steven Mosher. “I made it clear that forced organ harvesting continued to be a big business in China, despite Beijing’s claim that only voluntary organ donors had been used since 2015.

“I was attacked by a CASS ‘academician’ who is close to the CCP, who claimed that Uyghurs, Tibetans, and political prisoners were no longer being executed for their organs. This is simply not true, as the action of the U.S. Congress makes clear. There are numerous reports of continued forced organ harvesting, which the new legislation, if signed into law by Biden, will help to curb.”

Communist Controlled Dating: The CCP has launched a state-owned dating app in the city of Guixi. The app, Palm Guixi, provides matches using data from single city residents and facilitates meetings. This, along with a province-wide campaign to end the bride price tradition, is one of many attempts to reverse population decline.

“If the Chinese people do not voluntarily start having more babies,” says PRI President Steven Mosher. “Dating, marriage, and childbearing will be made compulsory. It is only a matter of time.”

UN Misdeeds

Unsung Benefits of Marriage: In UN negotiations, pro-marriage and pro-family language face increasing opposition. Despite the proven benefits of marriage and family, feminists still hold the party line that these structures are harmful to women and girls.

Science Gone Mad

Harmful Myths: Women around the world are fed a steady diet of incorrect information about fertility, that pushes them towards birth control and IVF. But Grace Stark is combatting this narrative with the five fertility myths and the truths behind them.

Pro-Life Around the World

Biden Excludes Hungary: For the second year in a row, Biden excluded Hungary from his “Summit for Democracy.” This is an obvious response to Hungarian leaders’ support for traditional marriage and family systems.

“The Biden administration is so busy pushing LGBT ideology, that it is blind to the damage this reckless proselytization of sexual license is doing to the image of America abroad,” says PRI President Steven Mosher. “The majority of people around the world want nothing to do with these ideas, continue to support marriage between a man and a woman, and continue to support childbearing.”

Contraception in Canada: British Columbia is now the first Canadian province to offer free contraception in Canada. Now any citizen of the province with a valid health card can get contraceptives in the form of pills, implants, or injections. This “health” initiative turns a blind eye to the negative side effects of these hormonal cocktails that do more to women than just prevent pregnancy.

Pro-Life on the Home Front

The Floridian Heartbeat: Over the last few weeks, Florida legislators have moved closer to putting heartbeat legislation in place. Advanced by the Fiscal Policy Committee on Tuesday, to be voted on by the Senate only yesterday, the legislation would make several pro-life changes. Besides the six-week limit, it would also limit telehealth and chemical abortions, and strengthen pregnancy centers that counsel against abortion.

Vandal Caught in NY: Compass Care Pregnancy Services in Amherst, NY, suffered attacks both last and this year. But this time around, the individual responsible was caught. Hannah Kamke was charged with criminal mischief in the third degree for spray painting graffiti on the center’s sign.

Fire Bomber Arrested: U.S. officials finally found the vandal responsible for firebombing a pro-life center in Wisconsin. Hridindu Roychowdhury committed the crime against Wisconsin Family Action’s office last May, only days after the leak of the Roe v. Wade draft opinion.

“Over a hundred attacks on crisis pregnancy centers later, the Biden administration is finally making a couple of arrests,” says PRI President Steven Mosher. “If they would spend a fraction of the effort they have expended arresting grannies who walked through the Capitol on January 6th on catching real criminals, America would be a much safer place.”

A Citizen’s Concerns: Maine’s governor announced a move to allow abortion up to birth earlier this year, but not all citizens are on board. In a letter to the editor, one Maine resident shared his concerns over the barbaric practice and legislation. His state is slowly being turned into an “abortion land,” even though surveys show that the majority of the public is against this.

Good News

A One-Child Policy Survivor: Good can come from even the roughest of starts and one Chinese adoptee is a living example of this. A young woman, Shaohannah, was abandoned after birth during the one-child policy when parents were desperate for male children. Today, Shaohannah shares that she is grateful to her parents for giving her life and, in turn, works as an advocate for life in the U.S.

Quote of the Week

“Value is not based on anything that a person can or can’t do, but merely by the fact that they exist, that God wills them into being and that ultimately that they’re a channel of God’s love.”
