In February 2020, the New York Post published a cover story about the pandemic that had just begun to sweep the nation.
“Don’t buy China’s story: The coronavirus may have leaked from a lab,” the headline read.
“Boom! came down the Big Tech hammer, as our opinion piece got suppressed as disinformation,” the New York Post editors wrote last month.
And they’re right – the story was immediately scrubbed from all major social media. Big Tech put a tight lid on any notion that China could possibly have developed the virus at Wuhan’s Level Four Bio-Lab run by the Communist Chinese Defense Ministry.
Here at PRI, we’ve seen this movie many times before.
When PRI President Steve Mosher broke the story about China’s gruesome forced-abortion policy forty years ago, the Chinese Government kicked him out of the country. Stanford University, afraid of offending their Communist partners, showed him the door as well.
Nobody wanted to hear about it. But that was before I was able to track Steve down and bring his testimony before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, where I served as a member of the staff.
With the Communist Chinese deep in denial, pro-abortion Democrats considered Mosher’s findings to be “disinformation.” When pro-life champion Senator Jesse Helms (R-NC) pressed the issue, Democrats demanded that we arrange a briefing on the allegations from the State Department.
Certainly, they thought, a reliable government “expert” would prove Mosher wrong once and for all.
Senator Helms chaired that briefing. When it began, indignant Democrats and their staffers made clear their displeasure. They wanted the government official to condemn Mosher’s findings and wrap it up in ten minutes.
However, the official took a different tack. He calmly and extensively reviewed Mosher’s findings, adding factual background drawing from his own research. He based his testimony solely on public records, he said, and relied on no classified material.
As he concluded his review of the evidence, he said:
“The questions I have been asked to address are three: ‘Does this forced-abortion program exist, does the Chinese Government know about it, and does the Chinese Government enforce it?’”
He paused.
“The answer to all three of these questions, Senators, is ‘Yes’.”
There were audible gasps around the room. And glares in my direction from a couple of angry staffers.
An interesting detail: while the Government’s population expert relied solely on public information, the hearing was “classified” – solely to protect the identity of the official who testified (which is why we do not name him here).
Why?
He said he wanted to be able to return to China.
Mosher also shared his findings with Reagan Administration officials – much to the dismay of the State Department’s China “experts,” not to mention the abortion lobby.
Ultimately, those findings played an important role in formulating President Reagan’s “Mexico City Policy,” which was finally announced in 1984, which PRI has covered for years.
And before long, the grisly truth about China’s “One-Child Policy” was revealed to the world.
Another Coverup, Finally Exposed: The China Virus
Two weeks ago, the Wall Street Journal dropped a bombshell: the U.S. Energy Department had revealed that “A Lab Leak in China [was the] Most Likely Origin of Covid Pandemic.”
“The Energy Department,” the stunning report read, “now joins the Federal Bureau of Investigation in saying the virus likely spread via a mishap at a Chinese laboratory,” according to “an updated document from the National Security Council.”
“The Energy Department’s conclusion is the result of new intelligence and is significant because the agency has considerable scientific expertise and oversees a network of U.S. national laboratories, some of which conduct advanced biological research …The FBI previously came to the conclusion that the pandemic was likely the result of a lab leak in 2021 with ‘moderate confidence’ and still holds to this view,” the Journal added.
The FBI now admits that the most likely source of the coronavirus was the Chinese Defense Ministry’s Level-4 Bio-Safety Lab in the city of Wuhan. That determination took so long, FBI Director Christopher Wray said, because the Communist Chinese were doing their best “to thwart and obfuscate the work” of the FBI and others seeking to prove the origins of the virus.
But the Chinese Communists are not the only forces doing their best “to thwart and obfuscate the work” to prove the origins of the virus. For three years, their denials were amplified by a unanimous establishment media.
Stephen Mosher was one of the key targets of that campaign. and it’s now clear why China apologists universally blacklisted him: Mosher’s banned reporting identified not only the source of the virus – the Wuhan Lab – but the reason it was created.
“Way back in February 2020, I published articles arguing not only that the China Virus came from the Wuhan lab, but that it was a bioweapon created using Gain-of-Function techniques,” Mosher says.
“I was instantly slammed as a conspiracy theorist, and my articles disappeared from the internet. It was clear to me that, since I was taking so much flak, that I must be over the target.
“Now, three full years later, we have Deep State actors like Christopher Wray engaging in a ‘limited hangout.’ They now admit that it ‘leaked’ from the lab, hoping that this partial truth will quell the controversy.
“It won’t,” Mosher said – and he’s determined to make sure that it won’t.
“The China Virus was not only created in the Wuhan lab – using U.S. Gain-Of-Function techniques and U.S. funding – but it was created for use as a bioweapon and deliberately unleashed on the world,” he said.
To drive his point home, Mosher posed a “what-if” featuring Dr. Anthony Fauci. You remember him, he served as Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) from 1984 to 2022, and as Biden’s chief medical advisor during 2021 and 2022.
“What would you say if the U.S. (think ‘Fauci’) had trained Chinese scientists how to enrich uranium, helped to fund their enrichment program, and actually provided them with some enriched uranium?” Mosher asked.
“Then they built a bunch of nuclear weapons and deliberately detonated them in every country around the world. Now replace the words ‘enriched uranium’ with ‘the China Virus’ and you will know what really happened. And why the Deep State is so desperate to cover up its involvement by covering up for China.”
As the past three years have proven, it’s not just the Deep State that has been hiding the facts on China. The “legacy media” has been doing its part – not only hiding the story but mocking the few sources revealing it as “conspiracy theorists.”
Meanwhile, as Washington dithers, Communist China is wasting no time. Last Tuesday, at the Third Plenary Session of the National People’s Congress in Beijing, “Dear Leader” Xi Jinping threatened the United States.
The U.S. is attempting to “encircle China,” Xi claimed, and his Foreign Minister Qin Gang doubled down: “If the US does not hit the brake but continues to speed down the wrong path, no amount of guardrails can prevent derailing and there will surely be conflict and confrontation,” Qin said.
Three days later, Xi was sworn in for an unprecedented third term as President by the Third Plenary Session of the National People’s Congress at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
So the strongest Chinese Communist leader since Mao had laid down the gauntlet.
