Breaking News

Life Legal’s Victory: The Life Legal Defense Foundation scored a win against abortion pill manufacturer Danco. Using the False Claims Act, Life Legal investigated and confirmed that Danco failed to pay customs duties on the pills, imported from China. It now owes $765,000 to the U.S. Government in recompense.

“I congratulate Life Legal Defense Foundation (LLDF) on its victory against Danco, the pharmaceutical company created specifically to distribute Mifeprex, the abortion pill,” says PRI President Steven Mosher. “It turns out that Danco not only failed to pay customs duties, it failed to label this dangerous drug with the country of origin: China.  Here we have one more way–in addition to Covid and fentanyl–that the Chinese Communist Party is killing Americans. The Biden administration has, in effect, enlisted the CCP in its war on the unborn.”

PRI in the Media

The Classic Scare: For decades, climate change activists and organizations have made it their mission to push abortion. Their self-destructive objective involves the drastic reduction of birth rates. Their methods involve eugenics and population control rebranded as “reproductive rights.” PRI addressed this ongoing issue in the video, “Climate Change is an Excuse for Abortion.”

Pieces of the West: The CCP wants its power and ideology to spread all across the world, as has already begun with its “Sino states.” But now a small piece of the Western world is sneaking its way back into China through the classics. Chinese academics are turning to Greek and Roman texts, including Plato and Aristotle.

Deepening Depopulation

Expensive Children: A recent study, conducted by the YuWa Population Research Institute (no connection to us at PRI), revealed the most expensive countries to raise a child in. South Korea came in first, followed closely by China. These high costs of raising children are a direct contributor to the population crises occurring in both countries.

Communist China

A Special Committee: Last month, a new committee for the Sinicization of Christianity was inaugurated. Located in Qingdao City, the committee will push Xi Jinping’s goal of adapting all religions to adhere to communist principles.

UN Misdeeds

A Skewed Definition: The UNFPA is once again attempting to redefine the term “forced pregnancy.” Pro-life groups have fought hard to keep a skewed definition of this term out of the UN system. But in the recent “State of the World Population Report,” the UNFPA went ahead and asserted that “forced pregnancy” occurs when any pregnant person is denied an abortion.

Science Gone Mad

Pushing the Boundaries: “America’s first test tube baby” was born in 1981 and today she is leading the embryo testing movement. Elizabeth Carr is the head of commercial development at the genetic testing start-up, Genomic Prediction. There she, and the company, claim to be able to rank embryos by their future risk of developing diseases. A eugenic process where the “best” are ranked first for implantation, while the rest are discarded for being inferior.

Banned from Donation: One Dutch man is a biological father to 550 children in the Netherlands and surrounding countries. Referred to as Jonathan M., this sperm donor lied to prospective parents about how many children he had fathered in order to keep donating. He is now permanently banned from sperm donation and will be charged $110,000 per case if he breaches the ban.

Pro-Life Around the World

The Pope Promotes Unity: In Hungary last week, Pope Francis suggested that the country become a bridge to European unity. He clearly stated his opposition to the gender and reproductive ideologies that currently divide the EU. Hungary, with its pro-natal and pro-family policies, could lead Europe to a family-centered future.

“We at PRI were glad to see Pope Francis condemn as a ‘baneful path’ the ‘so-called gender theory,’ as well as condemn as ‘senseless’ and ‘always a tragic defeat’ abortion,” says PRI President Steven Mosher. “While it was only one short paragraph in a very long speech, it was very welcome.”

False Heroes: The International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) has launched a “Repro Hero” campaign to glorify contraceptives and abortion. These fantasy heroes put a cartoon face on the grisly reality of abortion and the harm it does to women.

Pro-Life on the Home Front

Broglio Speaks Up: Archbishop Timothy Broglio is boldly speaking out against the provision of abortions at veterans’ medical centers. He sent a letter in response to last week’s U.S. Senate vote which approved the Department of Veterans Affairs to do so.

“As a Vietnam-era veteran, I am personally offended that VA medical centers will now be transformed, in part, into abortuaries,” says PRI President Steven Mosher. “Literally the last thing that aging or disabled veterans, who are overwhelmingly male, have a need for is access to abortion. This effort will not only divert scarce resources from veterans in need, it is a highly transparent, and likely illegal effort to get around the pro-life laws that many states are passing.”

Open Door to Death: This past Tuesday, Vermont became the first state to allow terminally ill out-of-staters come specifically for assisted suicide. Republican Gov. Phil Scott removed the residency requirement from the state’s medically assisted suicide law.

Bills That Push Pills: This past week, New York Governor Kathy Hochul signed both pro-abortion and pro-contraception bills. The first requires that two universities, SUNY and CUNY, help students access medication abortions. While the second allows pharmacies to provide birth control over the counter.

Good News

Gift of Faith: Pregnancy from rape is a difficult topic to discuss, but one mother who went through the experience shares her beautiful story. Kathleen Folan knew from the moment she found out she was pregnant by her rapist that God had entrusted her with a baby for a reason and she was responsible to provide him with the best life she could. Her strength and love turned tragedy into a beautiful adoption story, as well as beautiful lives for both her and her child.

“I understand the pain of rape and the daily burden of carrying a child to term who was conceived as a result,” says PRI President Steven Mosher. “But the unborn child is innocent of the crime that led to his conception, and executing him does not set right the scales of justice. Two wrongs do not make a right.”

Quote of the Week

“God assumed the fullness of our humanity in order to offer us salvation. Authentic proclamation of the Gospel, therefore, demands the protection of all human life, for in this way, we profess that the very life of Jesus Christ, our Savior, which began in the womb, and ended on the cross, encompasses our lives as well. To deny the life of a baby in utero is to deny the Incarnation, and thus, the very source of our hope for salvation.”

~ Archbishop Timothy Broglio, source
