USAID Needs to Warn Women of the Dangers of Depo-Provera

Despite mounting evidence of serious side effects associated with the use of injectable contraceptives, international aid programs continue to indiscriminately distribute Depo-Provera under various brand names worldwide. Indeed, a coalition of family planning partners including the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, PATH (Program for Appropriate Technology in Health), and others are seeking to inject even more vulnerable women in developing countries with risky injectable contraceptives. Like …

New PRI Study Shows Depo-Provera Increases Risk of HIV Infection

A new peer-reviewed study,1 conducted in collaboration with the Population Research Institute (PRI), shows that women who use Depo-Provera are significantly more likely to acquire HIV. Due to funding from organizations like the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and agencies like the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), Depo-Provera is the most widely used form of birth control by women in Sub-Saharan Africa where HIV prevalence remains high. The study found that Depo-Provera and other DMPA …

“We are Being Treated Like Animals”

Less than two months after 13 women died in the neighboring state of Chhattisgarh, 43 women were sterilized in unsanitary and inhumane conditions in Chatra, a northern district in the Indian state of Jharkhand. Knowing the facility had no electricity, the sterilization camp coordinator rented a generator to operate theatre lights. When the generator failed, the team continued to operate by flashlight. Savitri Devi,  the mother-in-law of a woman who was sterilized stated, “There are no …

USAID Funding of Sterilization Camps in India

Earlier this week, we released a report outlining some of the horrors of India’s sterilization camps. We called the world’s attention to the US Agency for International Development’s complicity in coercive sterilization camps in India. Among the evidence was a report published by the OECD describing a multi-million dollar program by USAID to reduce fertility in India. USAID TIED TO “RESULTS” The OECD report also elucidates how USAID encouraged India’s sterilization quota system to develop …

USAID Funding of Sterilization Camps in India

Women’s wombs are inflated with bicycle pumps. Some are paid as little as 600 rupees – about $10 –  to be sterilized. Some see – and feel – doctors pull shreds of their organs from their abdomens during procedures. Doctors reuse gloves and needles for dozens of surgeries.  Antibiotics or painkillers, if used, may be tainted with rat poison. These are just a few of the details about India’s “family planning” programs that have emerged …

World Vasectomy Day, Victory in Namibia, and a Gaffe from Gates: This Week’s Population Control News in Summary

Today, November 7, 2014, is World Vasectomy Day. Touted as a means of population control, today is the one of the few times when population controllers specifically target men and encourage them to undergo vasectomies. Population controllers are manipulating away men’s desirable ability to use self-control by promoting vasectomies. Vasectomies permanently eliminate a man’s control over whether or not to procreate. Today’s World Vasectomy Day has not been endorsed by fatherhood organizations. Instead, it’s been …

Babies by Remote Control

My long-time English friend, Ann Farmer, has just sent me an interesting article from The Telegraph (London), which tells how all of Scotland is rejoicing at the prospective pregnancy of a captive giant panda. Tests indicate that the female, named Tian Tian (“sweetie”), has conceived but that implantation—that next stage in her pregnancy—is still a few weeks away. At the same time, we have Bill and Melinda Gates, population control enthusiasts extraordinaire, feted for funding …

Women Deliver: Gates Global Push for Abortion Continues

The Malaysia conference highlights how to market a drug for one thing and use it for another, how euphemisms work and how it is up to government to create demand for contraception. It's being billed as "the largest global event of the decade to focus on the health and empowerment of girls and women." But it is also very obviously a conference designed to reduce populations of developing nations by promoting a Western-style sexual revolution …
