Quinacrine in India Thousands of illiterate women in India and Bangladesh have been used as “guinea-pigs” without their knowledge in unauthorized trials of quinacrine, a derivative of quinine used to perform chemical sterilizations by scaring and burning a woman’s fallopian tubes.
